Journal ArticleDOI
Photoreductions of α-chloroanthraquinones followed by photochemical dehydrochlorination in ethanol at room temperature
Kumao Hamanoue,Kazuhide Sawada,Kazuo Yokoyama,Toshihiro Nakayama,Susumu Hirase,Hiroshi Teranishi +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the 366 nm photolyses of α-chloroanthraquinones were interpreted in terms of the following consecutive reactions: 1,5-dichloroanthrasemiquinone or 1,8-dicloroquinone, 1-5-Dichloro and 1-8-Dicloquinone anthraquinone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoreduction of anthraquinone by triethylamine in ethanol and toluene studied by steady-state photolysis and laser photolysis.
Kumao Hamanoue,Toshihiro Nakayama,Yoshiaki Yamamoto,Kazuhide Sawada,Yoshihito Yuhara,Hiroshi Teranishi +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the photoreduction of anthraquinone (AQ) by triethylamine (TEA) in toluene and ethanol by means of steady-state photolysis and laser photolysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photochemical reactions of bromoanthraquinones in ethanol at room temperature studied by steady-state photolysis and laser photolysis.
Kumao Hamanoue,Toshihiro Nakayama,Kazuhide Sawada,Yoshiaki Yamamoto,Susumu Hirase,Hiroshi Teranishi +5 more
TL;DR: The results of the laser photolyses revealed that the rate constant for hydrogen-atom abstraction from ethanol decreased as an increase of the ππ* character of the lowest triplet states of α-bromoanthraquinones as discussed by the authors.
