Properties of (Ti, Cr, Al)N coatings with high Al content deposited by new plasma enhanced arc-cathode

TL;DR: In this paper, a super hard coating system of (Ti x Cr y,Al z )N ( x : y ∼1:2, z = 0.63-0.73, x + y + z = 1) was synthesized by a newly developed plasma enhanced type of arc-cathode.

Hard film for cutting tools, cutting tool coated with hard film, process for forming hard film, and target used to form hard film

TL;DR: A hard film for cutting tools which is composed of (Ti1-a-b-c-d, Al a, Cr b, Si c, B d) (C l-e N e) 0.5 <= a, b, c, and d denote respectively the atomic ratios of Al, Cr, Si, and B, and a denotes the atomic ratio of N as mentioned in this paper.

Hard laminated film, method of manufacturing the same and film-forming device

TL;DR: In this article, a hard laminated Mm where a layer A and a layer B having specific compositions are deposited alternately so that the compositions of layers A and B are different is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural and mechanical property of Si incorporated (Ti, Cr, Al)N coatings deposited by arc ion plating process

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the bias voltage on the composition, structure and mechanical properties of the (Ti,Cr,Al,Si)N coatings was investigated and it was shown that the crystal structure of the coating was single-phased cubic rock-salt structure (B1 phase) independent of bias voltage.
Journal ArticleDOI

Properties of nano-multilayered hard coatings deposited by a new hybrid coating process: Combined cathodic arc and unbalanced magnetron sputtering

TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis of the coatings deposited by the hybrid process revealed that these coatings had a multilayer structure in that layers deposited by arc source and the sputter source were stacked alternatively.
