The present invention involves a system for automatically screening closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras for large and small scale security systems, as used for example in parking garages. The system includes six primary software elements, each of which performs a unique function within the operation of the security system to provide intelligent camera selection for operators, resulting in a marked decrease of operator fatigue in a CCTV system. Real-time image analysis of video data is performed wherein a single pass of a video frame produces a terrain map which contains parameters indicating the content of the video. Based on the parameters of the terrain map, the system is able to make decisions about which camera an operator should view based on the presence and activity of vehicles and pedestrians, furthermore, discriminating vehicle traffic from pedestrian traffic. The system is compatible with existing CCTV (closed circuit television) systems and is comprised of modular elements to facilitate integration and upgrades.

A processing device is operably coupled to the camera. The processing device receives signals indicative of the field of view of the camera and images captured by the camera. The processing device automatically tracks movements of at least one object in the images. The processing device determines a stabilizing adjustment for the video image as a function of an unintended change in the field of view of the camera during a time interval between capture of a first image and capture of a second image. The determining is based upon the signals indicative of the field of view and an analysis of the first and second images.

An indication of the object of interest is received and is used to predict a future position thereof. Movement commands for the camera are created based on the future position of the object of interest such that the object of interest remains in the field of view of the camera.

Method and apparatus for object surveillance with a movable camera

An apparatus and a method for correction of a deviation of an imaging sensor of a digital camera in which an image of an object or a scene is formed on an image plane of the imaging sensor to output an image signal, are disclosed. A quantity of rotation of the digital camera causing a deviation of the imaging sensor from a reference position to occur, is detected. A change of a positional angle of the imaging sensor is calculated based on the detected rotation quantity. A target vector is calculated based on the calculated positional angle change, the target vector describing a magnitude and a direction of an inverse movement of the imaging sensor needed to reach the reference position and cancel the deviation. Movement of the imaging sensor is controlled based on the calculated target vector, so that the imaging sensor is moved back to the reference position thus correcting the deviation. The calculation of the target vector and the movement of the imaging sensor are executed within an image acquisition time for a single frame of the image signal.

Apparatus and method for correction of a deviation of digital camera

The invention provides a video camera system such as a supervisory system wherein the amount of calculation for motion detection is reduced to reduce the required capacity for hardware. An output of a video camera is sent to a data processing apparatus. In the data processing apparatus, an evaluation value calculation block extracts a video signal of each of a plurality of areas and calculates an evaluation value of the image for each of the areas. Further, a microcomputer calculates a reference value based on the evaluation value obtained in an ordinary state and stores the reference value, and then compares the reference value with a current evaluation value to detect motion of the image. Further, the microcomputer controls the position of the video camera so that the area in which the motion has been detected may be positioned at a central portion of the field of view of the video camera.

An apparatus for reproducing signals recorded on a selected one of first and second discs of different diameters, such as, a relatively large diameter video disc and a relatively small diameter compact disc, has a disc-transporting tray mounted for substantially horizontal movement between a first or operative position within a housing and a second or disc-inserting and withdrawing position in which the tray projects substantially forwardly from the housing through an opening at the front of the latter, the tray having first and second disc mounting portions dimensioned for receiving and holding the relatively large and small diameter discs, respectively, and the second or relatively small-diameter disc mounting portion being disposed at a front part of the tray and substantially contained within the confines of the first or large-diameter disc mounting portion for minimizing the required size of the tray, and hence the overall size of the apparatus. Further, access to the second or relatively small-diameter disc mounting portion of the tray for inserting or withdrawing a compact disc may be had when the tray is only partly projected from the housing, thereby to reduce the time required for loading and unloading or exchanging a compact disc.

PURPOSE: To contrive to shorten a loading time, by constituting a device so that a CD placing part is provided at the front part of a disk tray, and a CD id protruding the disk tray from a cabinet so as to place only the CD in a CD mode. CONSTITUTION: When an operating button 17V is operated in a state that the disk tray 14 is contained in the cabinet 11, and an aperture 12 is closed, a loading mechanism is operated, then the disk tray 14 is protruded from the cabinet 11. By operating the button again, the disk tray 14 is loaded so as to be pulled in, then the VD id chucked. Also, when an operating button 17C is operated, the disk tray 14 is protruded from the cabinet 11, and a state that the CD can be loaded on the CD placing part 15C is generated, and by operating the operating button 17C again, the disk tray is loaded, and the CD can be chucked in a chucking mechanism.
