TL;DR: In this paper, Diethylaluminium dimethylamide and diethyl-aluminium ethanethiolate, Et 2 Al-X (X=NMe 2 and SEt) reacted with diketene by acyl-oxygen bond cleavage followed by a 1,3-hydrogen shift to give the corresponding dietHylal aluminium aceto acetic acid (Ia) or acetothioloacetic ethyl acid ester (Ib), both products have chelate structures.
