Disclosed herein is an energy trap type piezo-resonator (11) utilizing a thickness shear vibration mode, which is prepared by forming electrodes (13, 14) on both major surfaces of a piezoelectric substrate (12) and providing dynamic damper parts (17, 18) being held between grooves (15a, 15b; 16a, 16b) for preventing leakage of vibration from a vibrating part opposing the electrodes (13, 14) to each other to end portions of the piezoelectric substrate.

Piezoelectric resonance component

A chip-type piezoelectric resonance component is prepared by bonding spacer plates to side portions of an energy trap piezoelectric resonator. The resonator includes a piezoelectric resonance unit coupled with dynamic dampers vibrating for suppressing vibration as it is propagated, with the vibration being suppressed through a phenomenon of the dynamic dampers. Case members are pasted onto upper and lower portions of an element plate through sheet-type adhesives which define spaces for allowing vibration and prevent vibration of the vibrating portions from being hindered.

Chip-type piezoelectric resonance component

An angular rate sensor system [10] comprising a vibratory sensing element [12] and signal processing circuit [14]. The element [12] is preferably a polymorphic rectangular bar fabricated from two layers of piezoceramic material [26, 28] divided by a thin center electrode [E c ], and a plurality of electrodes [E 1 -E 4 ] scored onto the planar conductive surfaces [30, 32]. The element [12] is suspended at its acoustic nodes [N, N'] to vibrate in one direction [V] normal to the physical plane of the electrodes [E c , E 1 -E 4 ] using any suitable mounting structure such as parallel crossed filaments [34] or inwardly angled support arms [64] that provide predetermined degrees of lateral [S'] and longitudinal [S] stiffness. The circuit [14] may optionally constitute totally shared [FIG. 7], partially shared [FIG. 8], or totally isolated [FIG. 9] driving and sensing functions, the corresponding element [12] being configured with dual-pair, single-pair, or single-triple outer electrodes [E 1 -E 4 ], respectively. The circuit [14] typically utilizes an automatic gain control and two operational amplifiers, and may include various signal conditioning components and a separate tuning module.

Single bar type vibrating element angular rate sensor system

A ladder-type electric filter device in which a casing is partitioned into two compartments, one for containing strip-shaped series piezoelectric resonator elements which are operated at a longitudinal oscillation mode and the other for containing square shaped parallel piezoelectric resonator elements which are operated at a peripheral oscillation mode, each of the series and parallel resonator elements is layered along the height of the casing. Alternatively, an input, output and grounding terminal plates for electrically connecting rectangular piezoelectric resonator elements operated at a longitudinal oscillation mode are integrally formed with a casing for containing the rectangular piezoelectric resonator elements.

Ladder-type electric filter device

A small ladder-type electric filter for use in radio equipment or the like, includes a casing, a plurality of resonators having a small mechanical quality coefficient and a frequency constant, and a plurality of resonators having a large mechanical quality coefficient. The small mechanical quality coefficient resonators and the large mechanical quality coefficient resonators being combined in series-parallel to each other. The external size of the large mechanical quality coefficient resonators is substantially equal to the external size of the small mechanical quality coefficient resonators. Aplurality of terminal plates hold the plurality of small and large mechanical quality coefficient resonators in the casing. Slits are selectively formed in side edges of each of the plurality of large mechanical quality coefficient resonators for adjusting the resonance frequency of the large mechanical quality coefficient resonators to a predetermined resonance frequency. Therefore, the size of the casing can be determined in accordance with the frequency constant of the small mechanical quality coefficient resonators.

Ladder-type electric filter

A ladder-type electric filter circuit apparatus having a plurality of thinner electric filter units wherein each electric filter unit includes a casing of metal into which piezoelectric resonator elements and terminal plates are inserted, and the metal casing is securely mounted on a printed circuit board by soldering. The piezoelectric resonator elements and terminal plates are insulated from the metal casing by an insulating plate and an elastic insulatiang plate which is also served as a vibration or shock absorber for protecting the contained filter from any external vibration or shock propagated through the printed circuit board.
