The mobile communication terminal can further comprise at least one wired communication interface including a first electromechanical connector mechanically attached to the terminal housing. The removable scanning module can comprise an encoded information reading (EIR) device and/or an illumination module at least partially disposed within the scanning module housing. Both the mobile communication terminal and the scanning module can be at least partially received by a common housing. The removable scanning module can be configured to be communicatively coupled to the mobile communication terminal via an electromechanical interface comprising a first plurality of wires electrically coupling a second electromechanical connector to a third electromechanical connector. The second electromechanical connector can be electromechanically coupled to the first electromechanical connector. The electromechanical interface can comprises a second plurality of wires electrically coupling the scanning module to the first plurality of wires.

Removable scanning module for mobile communication terminal

A system and process for generating High Dynamic Range (HDR) video is presented which involves first capturing a video image sequence while varying the exposure so as to alternate between frames having a shorter and longer exposure. The exposure for each frame is set prior to it being captured as a function of the pixel brightness distribution in preceding frames. Next, for each frame of the video, the corresponding pixels between the frame under consideration and both preceding and subsequent frames are identified. For each corresponding pixel set, at least one pixel is identified as representing a trustworthy pixel. The pixel color information associated with the trustworthy pixels is then employed to compute a radiance value for each pixel set to form a radiance map. A tone mapping procedure can then be performed to convert the radiance map into an 8-bit representation of the HDR frame.

A digital video system (20) including a computer (22) connected via a network (28) to a number of video servers (26) and cameras (24). The computer (22) includes a program that provides a grid of display windows, each of which displays an image received from the camera associated with that window. The program sequentially polls each camera, accessing and displaying an images from the camera in its associated window. The program can access the cameras (24) at different frame rates. The program stores image streams in a single file, concatenating each successive image onto the end of the file. The file is then indexed using SOI and EOI markers to permit fast access to individual images within the file. The program can monitor received video and automatically start recording upon detecting motion within the video stream. Motion detection is implemented by comparing color component values for pixels from different images.

When an image is sensed by a digital camera, image additional information as image sensing conditions is stored together with the sensed image information. Also, information unique to that digital camera is stored together with the image additional information. The digital camera is connected to a printer by, e.g., an IEEE1394 I/F. The printer stores printing control information as various combinations of unique information such as its printing method, the types of ink, the paper, and the like, the print quality and the print speed, and the processing technique, such as masking. In response to a print instruction, the printer reads the image information and image additional information from the digital camera, and selects the printing control information in accordance with the read information and the set printing mode. The printer prints an image using the selected printing control information.

A part or whole image data of a plurality of images which are obtained as above and necessary for the dynamic range expansion processing are compressed by a compressing unit and the compressed image data is used in the dynamic range expansion processing.

The present invention provides a fiber optic connector which allows easy and secure assembly with a fiber optic cable, a supporting member used therein, and a method of assembling the fiber optic connector to the fiber optic cable. When optical fiber (150) of the fiber optic cable (100) is accommodated in a ferrule (30), the supporting member (50) is caused to engage a rear end of the inner housing (40); the reinforcing members (105) are disposed along member (41) of housing (40) whereafter they are fastened to member (41) by crimping sleeve (90) onto member (41).

According to the invention, a power supply for an image sensing device is obtained from a printer to prevent consumption of the battery. When the image sensing device is connected to the printer, a power management unit checks if electric power can be supplied from the printer. When electric power can be supplied from the printer, the power management unit switches the power supply from the battery to a power supply receiving/supplying unit that receives electric power from the printer. In this case, if the remaining capacity on the battery is small, the battery is charged by electric power from the printer. Also, the luminance of a display unit is increased, or the operation frequency of a control unit is raised. On the other hand, when electric power cannot be supplied from the printer, the power management unit switches the power supply to the battery. In this case, the power management unit reduces consumption power by decreasing the luminance of the display unit or reducing the operation frequency of the control unit.

The invention intends to enable unified management of the image data taken with the digital camera and the corresponding print format separately set for the printing device. For this purpose there is disclosed an image processing apparatus comprising an image taking unit for outputting image data by taking the image of an object, a memory medium capable of storing a plurality of print formats to be set in a predetermined print apparatus, together with the image data outputted from said image taking unit, and a communication unit for communicating with an external output apparatus thereby transferring the image data and the print formats stored in the memory medium to the external output apparatus.
