A intelligent backhaul radio is disclosed, which can operate by zero division duplexing for use in PTP or PMP topologies, providing for significant spectrum usage benefits among other benefits. Specific system architectures and structures to enable active cancellation of multiple transmit signals at multiple receivers within a MIMO radio are disclosed. Further disclosed aspects include the adaptive optimization of cancellation parameters or coefficients.

Intelligent backhaul radio with co-band zero division duplexing utilizing transmitter to receiver antenna isolation adaptation

A hybrid band intelligent backhaul radio (HB-IBR) is disclosed that is a combination of two radios operating in different bands. Embodiments include a dual radio configuration wherein a first radio operates in a non-line of sight (NLOS) radio link configuration and a second ancillary radio operates in a near line of sight or line of sight configuration (n)LOS. For example, the HB-IBR may have an Intelligent Backhaul Radio (IBR) operating in the non-line of sight mode of operation within the 5.8 GHz unlicensed band, and have an ancillary radio link operating in the FCC part 101 E band of operation at 60 GHz. A common medium access control (MAC ) block may be utilized between the dual radios.

Hybrid band intelligent backhaul radio

Establishment of integrated links comprising integrated wireless backhaul communications links and access communications links is facilitated by transmitting multiplexed sync signals to enable synchronization between the relay transmission point devices, and using a random access channel procedure to complete the establishment. The integrated wireless backhaul communications links and access communications links can be maintained by measuring channel characteristics of the backhaul communications links using a measurement reference signal.

Initial access and radio resource management for integrated access and backhaul (iab) wireless networks

“Tiered” groups of devices (tiered service radios) and/or licenses associated with the devices or users so as to provide a hieratical set of interference protection mechanisms for members of each tier of service are disclosed. Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint data links for any communication application, including wireless backhaul applications, are also disclosed. Exemplary systems, devices, and methods disclosed herein allow for the efficient operation of such a tiered service. Interference protection among tiered service devices belonging to one or more tiers of the service, from other devices within the same tier of service, or devices of other tiers of service, is disclosed. Identification of other devices of the same or differing tiers of service, and interference mitigation between other tiered service devices based upon intercommunication between the devices, and/or via a central registry database, are also disclosed.

Advanced backhaul services

The present invention relates to wireless networks and more specifically to systems and methods for selecting available channels free of radar signals from a plurality of 5 GHz radio frequency channels. In non-limiting embodiments, exemplary systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided that can facilitate reducing false detections and/or network downtime in exemplary mesh networks employing dynamic frequency selection (DFS) channels. In a non-limiting aspect, radar information can be propagated among exemplary mesh nodes, including location information, to facilitate reducing false detections and/or network downtime in exemplary mesh networks. In addition, in further non-limiting aspects, exemplary embodiments can transmit signals to facilitate silencing one or more DFS channels and/or collaborative mesh node identification and/or discrimination of radar signals and false detections, among other non-limiting aspects provided.

Methods and apparatuses for use of simultaneous multiple channels in the dynamic frequency selection band in wireless networks

A radar detector is used with a radio link, the radio link characterized by high duty factor operation of a radio transmitter. The radar detector is located a sufficient distance from the radio transmitter that the radar detector is not overwhelmed by the radio transmission signal in that channel and can detect sufficiently low level radar signals to ascertain potential radio interference at the radar from said radio transmitter. The results of the radar detection are communicated to the transmitter in a way that impacts the transmitter's use of the sensed channel. This communication can occur reactively when a radar detection is achieved (the absence of which indicates no radar has been detected) and/or can be a periodic or event-driven indication that the channel is available for operation (the information expiring if the result is not refreshed).

A signal detector is also described that detects energy from other users that is not in the operating channel or operating band of the transmitter to determine if the out of band emissions or out of channel emissions of the operating transmitter's signal need to be adjusted through such settings as transmit power, operating channel, filtering, or a combination.
