The main objective of this study is to examine the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Egyptian Women Psychological Empowerment and Work-Life Balance. The study was conducted on (107) Egyptian working women in different sectors and located in the Greater Cairo region. An online survey link was sent directly to these respondents to answer. They were selected using the non-probability judgmental sampling method; the only criterion for inclusion was that these respondents were working women operating in the Egyptian business context. Research hypotheses were tested using correlation and multiple regression analysis. After testing the effect of Egyptian working women’s psychological empowerment dimensions on the perceived work-life balance, it was concluded that competence and self-determination dimensions were the two main psychological empowerment dimensions that positively affected the perceived work life balance. The other three dimensions: meaning, impact, and trust dimensions, had an insignificant effect on the perceived work-life balance. This research will help in designing a practical roadmap showing how to empower women psychologically while preserving their well-being and balancing their work-life duties and responsibilities. In addition to implementing work-life strategies and HR policies that will support working women in Egypt. Most of the studies have tackled the positive benefits of women empowerment and ignored its consequences on women’s emotional and psychological well-being. Besides, few researches have been empirically administered on working women’s psychological empowerment especially in Egypt.

POVZETEK

Dandanes veliko casa preživimo v delovnem okolju in zato nam posledicno vedno manj casa preostane za kakovostno preživljanje casa z družino. Pomembno je, da si posameznik zna uskladiti delo in družino in hkrati prepozna vpliv usklajevanja na zavzetost pri delu. Glede usklajevanja dela in družine je veliko teorij, praksa pa kaže drugace. Vodstvo v povezavi z usklajevanjem se vedno nima dovolj posluha za svoje zaposlene. Vecji poudarek je treba nameniti povezavi med delom in družino ter zavzetostjo, saj je le-ta zelo pomembna. Zavzetost je pomembna za vsakega posameznika, kajti oseba, ki je zavzeta, je bolj produktivna, ucinkovita, uspesneje dosega cilje tako v delovnem kot tudi v družinskem okolju. Bistvenega pomena je ozavescanje organizacij o pomenu usklajevanja dela in družine, saj se na žalost le-to preveckrat spregleda.

V magistrski nalogi smo raziskali, kaksne izkusnje imajo zaposleni glede usklajevanja dela in družine ter kaksen vpliv in povezavo ima to z zavzetostjo pri delu. Poleg tega nas je zanimalo tudi, ali družini prijazni ukrepi podjetja pomagajo zaposlenim pri lažjem usklajevanju dela in družine ter mnenje zaposlenih glede lastne zavzetosti pri delu. Raziskavo smo izvedli na družbenih omrežjih med nakljucno izbranimi zaposlenimi v Sloveniji. Pridobljene rezultate smo analizirali s statisticnim programom SPSS. V razpravi smo rezultate interpretirali in komentirali. Ugotovili smo, da družini prijazni ukrepi podjetja pomagajo pri lažjem usklajevanju dela in družine, zaposleni imajo usklajeno delovno in družinsko življenje, prav tako so zavzeti pri delu. Ugotovili pa smo tudi, da sta usklajeno delovno in družinsko življenje in zavzetost pri delu pozitivno povezana.

Vpliv usklajevanja dela in družine na zavzetost pri delu

Comparatively, women's participation in employment has been more in the service sector. After entering in professional life, it turns into a struggle for female employees to create a balance between professional and personal life. In particular, the women of developing countries who can’t set boundaries between personal responsibility and professional duty that ultimately affect employees' attitudes and behavior away from the office. Work life balance is highly desirable for women employees in current circumstances. Without job satisfaction and consistency in life, it creates a dilemma for working women. This paper attempts to identify key factors and challenges that feel overwhelmed to the female by continuous pressure derived from the high expectations of the job. In this study, researchers bring out the concentration on an emerging developing country by focusing ten leading corporate firm's female employees of the several level of the hierarchy. The respondents were interviewed with a structured questionnaire and data was analyzed by statistical tools (SPSS) for both descriptive & inferential. Multiple regressions were run to measure the relationship between the identified factors and its impacts on employee's efficiency. The result reveals that due to the personal and professional imbalance, female employees can't deliver their best effort to the organization and thus work-life conflict downwards female employees' career progress as well as the productivity of the organization.
