Manajemen keuangan seharusnya dimengerti secara luas dan mendalam oleh para stakeholders khususnya para corporate finance. Dasar - dasar manajemen keuangan menekankan pada pemahaman penting dalam menjalankan strategi dalam bisnis dan manajemen keuangan. Stock returns are correlated with contemporaneous earnings growth, dividend growth, future real activity, and other cash-flow proxies. The correlation between cash-flow proxies and stock returns may arise from association of cash-flow proxies with one-period expected returns, cash-flow news, and/or expected-return news. We use Campbell's (1991) return decomposition to measure the relative importance of these three effects in regressions of returns on cash-flow proxies. In some of the popular specifications, variables that are motivated as proxies for cash-flow news also track a nontrivial proportion of one-period expected returns and expected-return news. As a result, the R2 from a regression of returns on cash-flow proxies may overstate or understate the importance of cash-flow news as a source of return variance.

Explaining Returns with Cash-Flow Proxies

ABSTRAK Financial distress merupakan tahap penurunan kondisi keuangan perusahaan. Keadaan financial distress yang buruk akan mengakibatkan kebangkrutan perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mekanisme corporate governance , likuiditas, leverage , dan ukuran perusahaan pada kemungkinan terjadinya financial distress pada perusahaan manufaktur di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2009-2012. Metode purposive sampling digunakan sebagai metode penentuan sampel, sehingga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 27 perusahaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis regresi logistik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran perusahaan memiliki pengaruh negatif dan signifikan pada financial distress . Sedangkan mekanisme corporate governance , likuiditas dan leverage tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan pada financial distress . Kata Kunci: corporate governance, financial distress

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh struktur modal dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap agency cost; pengaruh struktur modal, ukuran perusahaan, dan agency cost terhadap kinerja perusahaan; serta pengaruh tidak langsung struktur modal dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap kinerja perusahaan melalui agency cost sebagai intervening variable. Populasi adalah perusahaan-perusahaan dalam industri dasar dan kimia yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2009. Dari populasi ini dipilih populasi sasaran yang semuanya menjadi sampel penelitian. Metode statistika yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan positif struktur modal terhadap agency cost dan pengaruh signifikan negatif ukuran perusahaan terhadap agency cost; tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan struktur modal, ukuran perusahaan, dan agency cost terhadap kinerja perusahaan; serta tidak terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung struktur modal dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap kinerja perusahaan melalui agency cost sebagai intervening variable.

Analisis Pengaruh Struktur Modal, Ukuran Perusahaan, dan Agency Cost Terhadap Kinerja Perusahaan

Stock right investment decision is expected to provide the expected profit. This research aims to determine the influence of education and experience toward investment decision with moderated financial literacy by individual investors in the city of Medan. This study used primary data by questionnaire and the sample consisted of 250 respondents who are investor active in the city of Medan – Indonesia. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis and Structural Equation Modelling. The results showed that investors with the highest level of education is undergraduate 46.80%. The experience of investors invest in stocks that have been investing in shares over 3 years is the largest number as many as 36.00%. Education and investment experience have no significant relationships directly at alpha 5% toward the investment decision. Financial literacy is found to strengthen the links between education and experience toward investment decisions. The implication is that financial literacy is indispensable for the right investment decision.

The influence of education and experience toward investment decision with moderated by financial literacy

this research aims to determine and analyze the effect of Sharia Compliance (Islamic Income Ratio, Profit Sharing Ratio, Zakat performance ratio), Disclosure of Islamic Corporate Governance (Sharia Governance, General Governance) and Islamic Social Reporting to financial performance with firm size as a moderating variable. The population of this study is the sharia bank recorded in the Financial Services Authority of 2013-2017. The sample selection method uses census, and the number of samples used is 13 sample data. To analyze the data, thus study uses multiple linear regression and test of absolute difference of moderating variable with 5% significance level. The result of research shows that Sharia Compliance with Islamic Income Ratio indicator has no significant effect on financial performance, while Sharia Compliance with Profit Sharing Ratio indicator has significant positive effect and Zakat performance ratio has significant negative effect to financial performance. Disclosure of Islamic Corporate Governance with Sharia Governance indicator has significant negative effect and Islamic Corporate Governance with General Governance indicator has a significant positive effect to financial performance of Sharia Commercial Bank in Indonesia. Islamic Social Reporting has a significant negative effect on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia. Firm size is found to moderate the effects of Sharia Compliance, Islamic Corporate Governance, Islamic Social Reporting on the financial performance of Sharia Commercial Bank in Indonesia. Sharia Compliance and Islamic Social Reporting on Financial Performance of the Indonesian Sharia Banks

The energy conservation application on campus may reduce energy consumption by using alternative energy sources. Green behavior in energy conservation by students and campus regulation has an important role in developing green campus. The purpose of this research is to analyze factors affecting energy conservation application on green campus design based on green behavior. Green behavior consists of attitudes, responsibilities, control behavior, beliefs, and intentions in energy conservation. This research used a quantitative method and conducted at universities in Medan city, Indonesia. The population of this research was university students with a total sample of 395 respondents. The analysis was carried out with SEM-PLS. Attitudes and beliefs were affecting perceived behavior control. In addition, beliefs are also affecting energy conservation application on green campus. Therefore, the campus policy and management should consider students green behavior in designing energy conservation application for green campus. Green behavior by campus occupants is beneficial to support campus efforts to apply green campus concepts.
