There are numerous maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms for improving the energy efficiency of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The main differences between these algorithms are digital or analog implementation, simplicity of the design, sensor requirements, convergence speed, range of effectiveness, as well as hardware costs. Therefore, choosing the right algorithm is very important to the users, because it affects the electrical efficiency of PV system and reduces the costs by decreasing the number of solar panels needed to get the desired power. This paper provides the comparison of 62 different techniques used in tracking the maximum power based on literature survey. This paper is intended to be a reference for PV systems users.

This paper reviews influence of numerous real-time MPPT control methodologies for wind–solar hybrid renewable energy system (HRES). From the past research surveys, this paper will present the common trends in MPPT schemes and a discussion on advanced trends in intelligent techniques for wind–solar hybrid energy system. An evaluation on state of the art and performance of new intelligent control techniques on several criteria, i.e., array dependency, wind speed, convergence time, handling shading conditions, implementation for practical work, will also be elucidated. This review work is to foresee the application of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) control strategies to serve as a reference for new developments in powerful usage of hybrid energy system.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Approaches for Wind–Solar Hybrid Renewable Energy System—A Review

Photovoltaic (PV) is a technical name in which radiant (photon) energy from the sun is converted to direct current (dc) Electrical Energy. PV power output is still low, continuous efforts are taken to develop the PV converter and controller for maximum power extracting efficiency and reduced cost factor. Maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) play an important role in photovoltaic (PV) power systems because they maximize the power output from a PV system for a given set of conditions, and therefore maximize the array efficiency. Thus, an MPPT can minimize the overall system cost. MPPTs find and maintain operation at the maximum power point, using an MPPT algorithm. Many such algorithms have been proposed. The mostly used MPPT are P&O and Incremental Conductance Method and Constant voltage and current, Pilot cell etc, Fuzzy. In this paper the designing and Modelling of different algorithms have been implemented using Matlab and comparison of two algorithms is done.

Design and Modelling of PV system and Different MPPT algorithms

In this paper, a V/f control for high-power induction motor drives is analysed. In such uses, low dynamics in terms of speed-loop bandwidth is usually required. However, in some applications, where the load consists of a long shaft with certain mechanical components and with some resonant frequencies, instability and torque oscillations can cause significant damage. For these reasons, open-loop V/f control could be a winning solution, since it avoids resonances and oscillations caused by measurement feedbacks in the control. However, instability may arise also in open-loop V/f control. A stability analysis is here carried out analytically and a new method to overcome oscillations by varying dynamically the V/f ratio is proposed. The stability analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed method are verified with simulation results on a 2.8kV-7.25MW induction motor and with experimental tests on a small-scale 380V-10 kW motor.
