Provided are a formaldehyde scavenger capable of providing excellent formaldehyde scavenging performance without discoloring a wood material and not reemitting formaldehyde, and a wood material using the same. The formaldehyde scavenger contains urea, ammonium phosphate monobasic and ammonium phosphate dibasic. The formaldehyde scavenger contains urea, ammonium phosphate monobasic and ammonium phosphate dibasic preferably in a weight ratio of urea/ammonium phosphate monobasic/ammonium phosphate dibasic in the range of 5 to 45/0.5 to 15/1 to 20, and further preferably in a weight ratio of urea/ammonium phosphate monobasic/ammonium phosphate dibasic in the range of 10 to 35/1 to 10/2 to 15. The wood material is prepared by applying the formaldehyde scavenger thereto. The formaldehyde scavenger is preferably applied in the range of 1 to 50 g/m 2 by dry weight.

Preferably, the formaldehyde scavenger contains ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate at a weight ratio from 70/30 to 10/90 (ammonium primary phosphate/ammonium secondary phosphate). More preferably, the formaldehyde scavenger contains ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate at a weight ratio from 60/40 to 10/90 (ammonium primary phosphate/ammonium secondary phosphate). Also disclosed is a deodorant composition containing 3-50 parts by mass of a sulfite per 100 parts by mass of a composition wherein ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate are contained at the following mass ratio: ammonium primary phosphate : ammonium secondary phosphate = 10-70:90-30.

The invention belongs to the technical field of chemical industry, and discloses an indoor air formaldehyde scavenging agent based on an air conditioner fan and a purifying method of the indoor air formaldehyde scavenging agent. The indoor air formaldehyde scavenging agent is composed of the following components in parts by weight: 13-66 parts of inorganic ammonium salt, 0.3-1.6 parts of a pH conditioning agent, and 0.0001-0.005 part of an acid-base indicator. PURPOSE: To obtain a formaldehyde absorbent having strong absorbing capacity of formaldehyde released from woodwork and exerting no adverse effect on a human body or the woodwork after use, by using an aqueous solution containing sodium sulfite and ammonium salt. CONSTITUTION: Sodium sulfite and ammonium salt such as ammonium chloride or ammonium phosphate are dissolved in water to obtain an aqueous formaline absorbent solution. This aqueous solution is applied to the front and back surfaces of a woodwork such as plywood prepared using a formalin type resin. Formaldehyde released from the woodwork is rapidly reacted with the absorbent and caustic soda generated during reaction is rapidly reacted with acid generated from the ammonium salt to be formed into a neutral salt.
