Journal ArticleDOI

Gamma-ray spectroscopy with a cooled barium fluoride crystal

TL;DR: In this article, the same or even better gamma-ray energy resolution was achieved by cooling a 1 l BaF2 crystal to 243 K, which is the same temperature as that of a NaI(Tl) detector.
Journal ArticleDOI

High resolution neutron capture and transmission measurements on 137 Ba and their impact on the interpretation of meteoric barium anomalies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have made improved measurements of the neutron capture and total cross sections for {sup 137}Ba over a sufficiently wide range of energies so that the reaction rate at s-process temperatures (kT=6{endash}23 keV) can be determined solely from the data.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-Resolution Transmission Measurements of 233U Using a Cooled Sample at the Temperature T=11 K

TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution transmission data of {sup 233}U have been obtained using a cooled sample, which was conducted at the Oak Ridge Electron Linear Accelerator over the energy range from 0.6 eV to 300 keV at the 80m flight path station.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extreme nonstatistical effects in γ decay of 95Mo neutron resonances

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that γ distributions simulated in the framework of the nuclear statistical model are in sharp disagreement with the data, and they call into question the reliability of the statistical model.
