The present invention relates to a method for inspecting a crack in a metal surface or the like, and, particularly, to an inspection method and apparatus for nondestructive inspection such as liquid penetrant inspection and magnetic particle testing. The present invention provides a flaw inspection method that essentially comprises the steps of illuminating a surface of a sample to be inspected, obtaining an image of the surface, characterizing a potential flaw on the inspected surface by processing the obtained image, displaying an image of the potential flaw, verifying that the potential flaw is a true flaw, and storing an image of the verified flaw in memory.

Nondestructive inspection method and apparatus

An adsorbent for the removal of blood cells, which consists essentially of a hydrophobic high-molecular resin and has a surface center line average roughness (Ra) of 5 to 100nm. The hydrophobic high-molecular resin is preferably polyarylate resin (PAR), polyethersulfone resin (PES), polysulfonic acid resin (PES), or a polymer alloy consisting of two or more of the resins. The method comprises insonifying at least one subvolume of the object with ultrasonic energy at a fundamental frequency and acquiring receive energy from the object at the fundamental frequency and at least one harmonic frequency thereof. A nonlinearity parameter is determined using the receive energy. The nonlinearity parameter is then used to determine a grain size for the subvolume of the object and a variation of the grain size within the object. The nonlinearity parameter is also used to determine fatigue damage or a residual stress.

Ultrasonic inspection system and method

A multi-vane centrifugal fan has a fan housing and an impeller. The impeller includes a plurality of vanes arranged with a prescribed spacing in the circumferential direction and fixed to a hub rotatably driven around a shaft core. The impeller further includes an annular member for reinforcement that is provided on a side of the vanes opposite the hub. The fan housing has a bell mouth with a recessed part that is provided around a circumference of an air suction port of the fan housing. The recessed part has air suction port side end parts positioned on the side of the vanes opposite the hub and rotatably inserted in the recessed part without having a shroud.

SOLUTION: A region in which each carcass cord CC near each belt cord BC is imaged is extracted from an imaged image, and, when the extending direction and the image width direction of each carcass cord CC in the extracted extraction image form an angle more than a predetermined angle, it is determined that a cord wave arises in the tire T whose transmission X ray image is imaged. For example, therefore, when cord wave arises so that the extending direction and the image width direction of each carcass cord CC near each belt cord BC form 12°, and the predetermined angle is set at 10°, the extending direction and the image width direction of each carcass cord CC form the angle more than the predetermined angle, and it is determined that a cord wave arises. Method and device for inspecting tire

PURPOSE:To enhance the workability and test accuracy at a time when the measurement of the thickness of the oxide film on the surface of a material to be tested such as a fuel rod and the detection of the surface damage of the material to be tested are performed in the water of a fuel pool by utilizing an eddy current. CONSTITUTION:A chasis 7, a pair of upper and lower frames 5, 6 fixing the chasis 7 to a fuel handle 25 and an operation head 100 moving along the fuel rod 26 of the fuel handle in an up-and-down vertical direction between the frames 5, 6 and also moved in the lateral direction crossing the up-and-down vertical direction at a right angle and a before-and-behind direction are provided and a test coil 10 and a standard coil 13 are attached to the operation head 100 and a sensitivity calibrating test piece 12 is provided in the vicinity of the operation head 100. An air sump is provided to the chasis 7 and feed screws 17, 20 moving the operation head 100 in the up-and-down vertical direction and the lateral direction are provided to the chasis 7 and two motors 16, 19 driven by the screws are arranged to the operation head 100 in a left-and-right symmetric state. A Manganin wire is used in the test coil 10 and guide rollers are provided above and under the test coil 10 to be held by a coil spring 11 and a slide rod.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ultrasonic flaw detection device excellent in defect detecting performance by which the ultrasonic flaw inspection as the maintenance inspection of the fitting parts between the axle of an electric car and the wheels can be enabled to be performed from the end surface of the axle. SOLUTION: A probe structure 103 in which transverse wave (SH) probe segments 111 of an electron phase control type are arranged so as to cover the entire circumferential surface of the axle end is closely brought into contact (joined, bonded, or pressedly fitted) with the axle end surface 4, and sequentially exciting the respective segments for carrying out flow detection. In that case, for instance, a high viscous adhesive material is interposed on the closely contact surface so that the stabilization of ultrasonic wave transmission efficiency and the high efficiency can be achieved. The incident angle to the axle end surface 4 is changed by the electronic phase control method so that the ultrasonic beams 11 are converted on a flaw detection part for enhancing the flaw detecting performance and also by oscillating the beams the flaw detection on the entire region of the fitting part 3 is executed.

Ultrasonic flaw detection method and device for shaft member

PURPOSE:To obtain a cylinder inside scanner which is used for a nondestructive test of the inside of a cylinder, and others, and which can be used not only for an opposite-ends open type tube to be tested, but also for a one-end closed type tube to be tested, can be subjected to a speed control and a position control and has high precision in detection. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder inside scanner has a seal member 29, a passage 31 piercing the main body 1 of the scanner, a vacuum duct 23, a switching valve 32, etc., and it is so constructed that no pressure difference is brought forth between the front and the rear of the main body 1 of the scanner. Moreover, it is equipped with a brake rope 24, a take-up drum 41 and an electric take-up device 40 having a pulse motor incorporated. When the scanner is used for an opposite-ends open type tube to be tested, the switching valve 32 is closed, a flange 45 with an exhaust duct 44 is provided in an opening part and vacuum exhaustion is made therethrough. In the case of a one-end closed type tube to be tested, the switching valve 32 is opened, the vacuum exhaustion is made through the passage 31 and thereby the main body 1 of the scanner is transferred by the pressure difference.

Cylinder inside scanner and operating method thereof

PURPOSE:To automate blow detection using magnetic particles by taking a structure wherein a hole is made in an iron core of a magnetizing apparatus and a TV camera for observation is embedded therein and by providing an ultraviolet-ray intercepting filter and a shutter in front of the camera. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 200 is fitted in such a manner that it is embedded in a hole made in the central part of an iron core of a magnetizing apparatus 100, and the camera 200 is always directed to the center of a testing surface 502. An illuminating lamp 250 applies an ultraviolet ray so that fluorescent light be generated from fluorescent magnetic particle and makes the camera 200 detect a defect. However, Part of the ultraviolet ray reflected on the testing surface reaches the camera 200 directly and covers a screen, so that other images can not be seen. In order to prevent this disadvantage, an optical filter 231 which transmits the fluorescent light generated by the magnetic particle, but intercepts the ultraviolet ray, is provided in front of the camera 200 and thereby the harmful reflected ultraviolet ray is intercepted. Besides, a shutter 232 for preventing the stick on a lens of the camera 200 of a splash of an inspecting liquid scattered on the testing surface 502 is driven by an actuator 234 to be opened and closed.

CONSTITUTION:A radiation exposure device 20 having a structure in which radiation can be emitted only by opening a shutter 23 and a film holder 37 are opposed to each other with a pipe 80 between, and both are integrally connected to each other with a spacer 40 having an optional length. By changing the spacer 40, the device can be easily conformed to various pipe diameters. A shielding body 30 is miniaturized by inclining a radiation emitting hole 24, and a closed magnetic path allowing a reduction in weight of the device is utilized to provide a highly reliable interlock system.
