Journal ArticleDOI
Living-donor liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma.
Satoshi Kaihara,Tetsuya Kiuchi,Mikiko Ueda,Fumitaka Oike,Yasuhiro Fujimoto,Kohei Ogawa,Koichi Kozaki,Koichi Tanaka +7 more
TL;DR: Because many patients who did not meet the Milan criteria survived without tumor recurrence after transplantation, different patient selection criteria are necessary in LDLT to save those with advanced HCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Short- and long-term donor outcomes after kidney donation: analysis of 601 cases over a 35-year period at Japanese single center.
Masahiko Okamoto,Kiyokazu Akioka,Shuji Nobori,Hidetaka Ushigome,Koichi Kozaki,Satoshi Kaihara,Norio Yoshimura +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that continuation of living-donor kidney transplantation programs is justified in short- and long-term donor safety, and the survival rate of kidney donors was better than the age- and gender-matched cohort from the general population, andThe patterns and causes of death were similar.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term outcomes of 600 living donor liver transplants for pediatric patients at a single center.
Mikiko Ueda,Fumitaka Oike,Yasuhiro Ogura,Kenji Uryuhara,Yasuhiro Fujimoto,Mureo Kasahara,Kohei Ogawa,Koichi Kozaki,Hironori Haga,Koichi Tanaka +9 more
TL;DR: Long‐term patient and graft survival after pediatric LDLT for a large cohort of children at the authors' hospital were found to be as good as those for cadaveric liver transplantation, although this series includes 13% liver transplantations with ABO‐incompatible donors, which are obviously inferior in patient and transplant survival.
Journal Article
The effect of machine perfusion preservation versus cold storage on the function of kidneys from non-heart-beating donors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Auxiliary Partial Orthotopic Living Donor Liver Transplantation: Kyoto University Experience
Mureo Kasahara,Yasutsugu Takada,Hiroto Egawa,Yasuhiro Fujimoto,Yasuhiro Ogura,Kohei Ogawa,Koichi Kozaki,Hironori Haga,Mikiko Ueda,Koichi Tanaka +9 more
TL;DR: The indication of APOLT is expanded for small‐for‐size grafts to support the function of implanted grafts during the early post‐operative period, and for ABO‐incompatibility to sustain a patient's life if the patient has a graft failure.
