The invention provides a method for constructing a specific, though temporary, watercourse in a natural or artificial river bed. It consists in placing on the river bottom (5) a number of concrete supports (1) provided with holes (4). Elements (10) can then be placed in the river bed by driving a rod (11) located at their lower end into a corresponding hole (4). Any obstacle can then be created as required, especially if the river can be drained. Application in the construction of watercourses, in particular for canoeing and kayaking.

Process and device for constructing a watercourse from a river

The dam-like arrangement which provides protection against the temporary occurrence of high water comprises a pedestal 1 in which a shield 2, which can be extended from a recess, in particular from a slot, is guided and mounted. The extendable shield 2 is formed from individual units, the cross members of which are attached to the supports. This frame-like structure is connected in one piece by a retaining skin. The units are each sealed off from the pedestal 1 via a seal 5.

Dam-like protective arrangement

A device for creating a specific but temporary aquatic passage in an artificial or natural river. The device includes bases which rest on the bottom of a river and elements which extend upwardly from the bases. The bases have holes formed therein which receive rods that extend downwardly from the elements. Placement of the bases in the river bed, and subsequent installation of elements into the bases, allows obstacles to be created in the river which are desirable for canoeing and kayaking.

Flood defence wall with columns (S), arranged at a distance from each other which may be adjusted along a base surface (GF), running along a flood defence line, comprising, when viewed perpendicular to the flood defence line, a support surface (AF) on the side thereof facing the flood water, to support the flood damming wall elements (WE), a longitudinal profile (LP) being provided on the columns (S) to retain the wall elements (WE), running along the support surface (AF) and which press the wall elements (WE) in the direction of the support surface (AF) and the direction of the base surface (GF).

Flood defence wall

The system consists of profiled panels with a length of 5m -10m. Each panel has a height of 1,20m, which can be increased if required. The panels are carried on support plates with fold-out feet directed to both sides. The plates are anchored in the ground, and are stabilized in the ground via tubular iron bars. All parts are supplied with rubber inserts and seals.

The individual damming beams are connected at vertical posts 17 which are inserted into sleeves 18 arranged in the ground. Located at ground level is an encircling angle 20 to which a seal 21 is attached. U-shaped openings 30 for connecting the damming beams are located at the side of the inserted posts 17. The U-shaped openings 30 are each formed by a fixed angle 31 with a vertically running seal 25 and a movable pressure angle 32 at the opposite side. The movable pressure angles are guided by pins 43 in guides 33 directed down at an angle and in the form of elongated holes.
