A technique of enhancing attachment of a liquid supply unit to a liquid ejection device is provided. A first ink cartridge 100a and a second ink cartridge 100b are attached to a carriage 27 of a printing device 10 via a holder structure 200. Each of the first and the second ink cartridges 100a and 100b includes a circuit substrate 130 having a plurality of terminals 151 to 159 which are electrically connected with a device-side terminal assembly 250 provided on the holder structure 200. Each of the first and the second ink cartridges 100a and 100b also includes a main engagement part 120 configured to engage with a lever member 230 of the holder structure 200 as an engaged part, such as to limit motion of the circuit substrate 130 away from the holder structure 200. The circuit substrate 130 includes a first terminal 151 and a second terminal 152 located on respective ends in an array direction of the terminals. The main engagement part 120 has a width greater than an interval between contact portions CP of the first and the second terminals 151 and 152 in the array direction of the terminals.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing stopping apparatus enabling to select and control whether to immediately cancel or to cancel after printing to finish a section being printed when printing is canceled in the case of sectional unit printing. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a sectional unit data storing part 4 in which data of the sectional unit printing is stored, and a printer controlling part 1 which detects that a cancellation signal indicating interruption of printing is inputted. The printer controlling part 1 continues printing the section being printed to the end of the section when the cancellation signal of printing is first inputted during the sectional unit printing in printing designated by the sectional unit. Apparatus for stopping sectional unit printing

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein the ease of use of a user is damaged if an aftertreatment is forcibly released when an aftertreatment prohibition rule is laid in a job with staple processing and punching processing set therein. SOLUTION: The image forming system equipped with an image forming apparatus and an aftertreatment apparatus is preliminarily given proper setting as a behavior when the aftertreatment prohibition rule is generated. When an aftertreatment becomes NG, on the basis of the proper setting, the system continues printing by releasing the aftertreatment (steps S20 and S22) or produces an error by stopping the printing (step S18). An expansion/contraction measuring apparatus includes a transport section which transports a flexible substrate along a surface of the substrate; a detecting section detecting first and second marks which are formed on the substrate while being separated from each other by a predetermined spacing distance in a transport direction of the substrate and which are moved, in accordance with the transport of the substrate, to first and second detection areas disposed on a transport route for the substrate respectively; a substrate length setting section which sets a length of the substrate along the transport route between the first and second detection areas to a reference length; and a deriving section which derives information about expansion/contraction of the substrate in relation to the transport direction based on a detection result of the first and second marks. Accordingly, the expansion/contraction state of an expandable/contractible substrate is measured highly accurately.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the ejection of sheets of paper corresponding to the pages of a job if the job specified by a user exceeds the limited number of sheets in a stapling process. SOLUTION: When image formation is carried out for a job in which a stapling process is set, sheet of transfer paper are shifted to the stacking position of a post-processing device from the first page of this job (step S10). When the number of sheets of paper in the job reaches the limited number, a bundle of sheets of paper shifted and held in the stacking position are forcibly ejected without performing a stapling process (step S8). If an image is formed in the same job after the number of sheets of transfer paper exceeds the limited number, an instruction is given to shift the transfer paper to the stacking position without interruption (step S5). SOLUTION: The image recording device comprises a means for reading an image of a copied document, a means for storing read image data, a means for calculating a staple division number based on a staple division rule stored in the storing means and printing the stored image data when the number of the read finished documents exceeds a staplable number stored in the storing means, a means for stapling the printed paper sheets and resetting the print number when the print number reaches the staple division number, a means for returning the state to the state after the calculation of the staple division number when the staple number has not reached a set number stored in the storing means, and a means for printing the stored image data on the paper sheet and stapling the printed paper sheet when the staple number reaches the set number.
