Journal ArticleDOI

Changes of bacterial and fungal community compositions during vermicomposting of vegetable wastes by Eisenia foetida.

TL;DR: Changes of bacterial andFungal community during vermicomposting of vegetable wastes by hatchling, juvenile and adult Eisenia foetida were investigated through analysis of the extracted bacterial 16S rDNA and fungal 18S r DNA with quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) and sequencing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of earthworms on physicochemical properties and microbial profiles during vermicomposting of fresh fruit and vegetable wastes

TL;DR: It is suggested that the presence of earthworms promoted the activity and population of bacteria and fungi, and modified their communities, thus altering the decomposition pathway of fresh FVW.
