Abstract: The valve has a magnetic or magnetisable body (2) movable in a guide (1) away from a seating (3) by a magnetic actuator (20,21). The seating is protected by a layer of elastomer in the shape of a cone fitted to the underside of the body. The valve is used in a machining table (10) with a surface against which a workpiece is held by a suction device (12). Ducts (13,14) for vacuum or compressed air extend through the table under the valve seatings, with which they are in communication.

Abstract: The vacuum block unit has protruding pins or rib-shaped contact elements (34,44) which are provided on the suction side (6) which seats on the base and on the suction side (8) which faces the workpiece. The end faces (36) of these elements during suction action of the unit are supported against the base and lie against the workpiece surface respectively. A sealing element (16) in the form of a suction plate (20,22) is provided on at least one suction side, and through-holes are formed in the plate for passage of the contact elements.
