A thermal paper with a fluorescent security mark printed on the thermosensitive coating that is responsive to wavelengths in the range of 200 nanometers to 400 nanometers. The mark is either printed on the thermosensitive coating directly or on an optional protective top coat positioned over the thermosensitive coating. Methods of preparing the thermal paper comprise printing a solution, dispersion or emulsion of a fluorescent compound on the thermal paper by flexographic printing.

To provide a thermosensitive recording material, containing: a support; an under layer; a thermosensitive recording layer; and a protective layer, where the under layer, the thermosensitive recording layer, and the protective layer are provided in this order on at least one surface of the support, wherein the support is synthetic paper, or a synthetic resin film, wherein the under layer contains a binder resin, and hollow particles, wherein an adhesive force of the thermosensitive recording material at ―20°C, as measured by the described measuring method of the adhesive force, is 10.0 N/25 mm or greater.

The present invention provides a composite panel for use in construction, and particularly for shingling, which comprises natural fiber and a polymer. Due to its composition and layout the construction panel provides all of the advantages of natural materials and high end roofing materials, particularly an attractive appearance, while at the same time allowing for ease of installation, little or no maintenance requirements, and providing superior impact and fire resistance when compared to other roofing materials. The construction panels can also be installed using conventional equipment and methods similar to the installation of 3-tab asphalt shingles with little or no learning curve.

A dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound contains a modified saponified vinyl ester copolymer (A) having an ethylene content of 1 to 20 mol %, a degree of saponification of 90 mol % or more and a degree of polymerization of 100 to 3,000, a saponified vinyl ester polymer (B) having a degree of saponification of 60 to 90 mol % and a degree of polymerization of 600 to 4,000, and a saponified vinyl ester polymer (C) having a degree of saponification of 30 to 60 mol % and a degree of polymerization of 100 to 600, and in which a component (A)/{component (B)+component (C)} weight ratio if 5/95 to 40/60. Further, the suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound using this dispersion stabilizer can produce a resin having a high bulk density minimizes the formation of milky turbid waste water.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin composed of a vinyl alcohol polymer having hydroxyalkyl group on the side chain, exhibiting remarkably excellent heat stability, especially melt-moldability at a temperature exceeding 200 deg.C and giving a molded article having excellent heat stability, impact resistance, etc. SOLUTION: This melt-molding resin is composed of a vinyl alcohol polymer containing preferably 0.1-30mol% of a 2-20C hydroxyalkyl group on the side chain. The polymer preferably has a saponification degree of >=80mol% and a viscosity-average polymerization degree of 300-5,000. The polymer is produced e.g. by copolymerizing a vinyl ester and an olefin having hydroxyalkyl group at -30 to +150 deg.C and saponifying the product in methyl alcohol at 20-60 deg.C. The vinyl ester is preferably vinyl acetate and the hydroxyalkyl-containing olefin is preferably 3-buten-1-of, etc. The resin can be incorporated with a plasticizer such as ethylene glycol to further improving the melt-moldability of the polymer.

PURPOSE: To obtain an compounded composition which can give an adhesive excellent in initial tack, bonding strength, water resistance, etc., by mixing a specified modified polyvinyl alcohol with an aqueous emulsion and a polyisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION: A modified polyvinyl alcohol comprising structural units represented by the formula (wherein n is an integer of 2-20) is mixed with an aqueous emulsion and a polyisocyanate compound. An adhesive containing the obtained compounded composition is desirable. A wooden article obtained by bonding with this adhesive is more desirable. Examples of the aqueous emulsions include aqueous emulsions prepared by emulsion-polymerizing ethylene, vinyl acetate, an acrylic ester, etc., and aqueous emulsions, such as polyurethane emulsions, obtained by postemulsifying polymers. Examples of the polyisocyanate compound include tolylene diisocyanate and triphenylmethane triisocyanate.
