Energy damage index based on capacity and response spectra

TL;DR: In this article, a new damage index is proposed based on nonlinear static analysis, which is a linear combination of two energy functions: (1) the strain energy associated with the stiffness variation and the ductility of the structure, and (2) the dissipated energy associated to hysteretic cycles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applying the H/V Method to Dense Cities. A Case Study of Valencia City

TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply Nakamura's technique to Valencia city center, after some preliminary tests in Barcelona, by using the distance from buildings and car and pedestrian traffic to construct a measurement grid that was as regular as possible.

Seismic response and torsional effects of RC structure with irregular plant and variations in diaphragms, designed with Venezuelan codes

TL;DR: In this article, the seismic response and torsional effects of an existing reinforced concrete building with irregular plant and five levels projected according to an older version of Venezuelan seismic design code were analyzed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Seismic response and torsional effects of RC structure with irregular plant and variations in diaphragms, designed with Venezuelan codes

TL;DR: In this paper, the seismic response and torsional effects of an existing reinforced concrete building with irregular plant and five levels projected according to an older version of Venezuelan seismic design code were analyzed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Seismic and structural response of a framed four level building with RC and steel structure designed according to current Venezuelan codes

TL;DR: In this paper, the structural behavior of a four level framed building with composite RC and steel structure designed according to Venezuelan seismic codes was determined by linear analysis to design all structural elements and dynamic analysis was used to compute parameters of ductility, over strength and displacements.
