TL;DR: In order to determine whether the geographical distribution of autoimmune thyroid disease in Britain is influenced by the pattern of iodine intake, the prevalence of subclinical disease has been measured in female blood donors from seven towns in England and Wales previously characterised in terms of past and present iodine intake.

TL;DR: The results of the combined analysis provided strong support for the hypothesis of dominant inheritance but also showed significant reduction in gene expression among women aged 15-24 yr, inconsistent with a simple dominant hypothesis.

Monoclonal thyroglobulin autoantibodies: variable region analysis and epitope recognition.

TL;DR: The studies show that TgAAb are directed to two major conformational epitopes on the Tg molecule and that the proportion of T gAAb directed to these epitopes in apparently healthy blood donors and that in patients with AITD appear to be different.
