CNC system of the 5-axis hybrid robot for milling

The number of vehicles in use is increasing from year to year. It causes more fuel/energy to be consumed, and more carbon dioxide or other exhaust gases are released to the environment. But the legislations on carbon dioxide emissions have become stricter than before. In the overall effort to achieve sustainability, advanced technological solutions have to be developed to reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles. More than half of the energy in vehicles is lost as heat to the different cooling systems (engine cooling system, air conditioning, frictional components cooling) and exhaust gas. Reducing the amount of energy lost in vehicle cooling systems will enhance the fuel efficiency of the vehicles. This paper presents a literature survey of different cooling systems in vehicles, which includes the engine cooling system, air conditioning of the compartment, the electronic cooling system and cooling of frictionally heated parts. The usage of exhaust gas in some cooling systems is also included. Some methods or factors are presented for these different cooling systems. Flow field and thermal management are important factors in designing the engine cooling system. Whereas the exhaust gas can be circulated back to the engine, or used for driving air conditioning units. Reducing the thermal resistance can improve the electronic cooling performance. The flow field will affect the cooling of the frictional components. This literature survey is offering a starting point for future research in the vehicle cooling systems.

Because servo loop controller is very important in CNC milling machine, fast processing unit is necessary for high­ speed multi-axes CNC controlling. This article introduces how to control this High-Speed CNC milling machine by using Field­ programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Due to FPGA structure that can process concurrently, it can simultaneously control several axes movement. Therefore, servo loop time is constant even more axes are controlled. PID-Feedforward controller with Anti­ windup is applied in this development for High-Speed CNC controlling with FPGA.

This paper brings forward a hardware design method of reconfigurable CNC system which makes use of the abundant logic resources of FPGA and programmable characteristics. It introduces the scheme of a CNC system which has regarded FPGA as the control centre. It mainly represents the thought of reconfigurable design, design of programmable pulse signal generator, the speed control of stepping motor, and the communication of FPGA and PC. As a result, this system has fast response and strong reconfiguration ability. It can reduce the number of peripheral interface devices and result in cost-reduction.

Design of Reconfigurable CNC System Based on FPGA

In this paper, based on the electrothermal upsetting processing method, the process of valve upsetting is divided into two steps: initial upsetting and formal upsetting. Four parameters, including 1.hearting current; 2.press; 3.velocity; 4.material, which influence the manufacture process in evidence, is mainly discussed. Analyzing defect and deficiency of tradition processing, the article puts forward to a controlling strategy with iteration technique and designed an embedded valve upset forging microcomputer control system. The electrothermal upsetting control system based on embedded technology stores the experience and technique of local worker, optimizes the tradition processing by using ARM S3C2410X chip. During the process, controlling parameters such as press, displacement and voltage are real-time monitored. Signal feeds back to system by sensors to realize the closed loop controlling on-line self-study function. And the technics parameters and the controlling process will display on the HMI (Human Machine Interface). Using the system, the quality and efficiency of the valve manufacture are improved, and the robustness gets stronger. The system has been applied in enterprises. Comparing with the tradition one, the automaticity in manufacture is improved, and the rejection rate is reduced. It also benefits the informationization of production of enterprise.

Upsetting Machine Control System Based on the Embedded Technology

In this paper, structure and working principles of eddy current retarder (ECR) are discussed, as well as performance requirements of real-time virtual testing and simulation. On the basis of hardware testing platform, virtual models of vehicle and retarder are embedded into application program. In the testing system, Vega API function library is used for second development to control the 3D models, and Visual C++ is used for mathematical models call from MATLAB to simulate the working condition. Integrated with virtual instrument and virtual environment, the limitation of former simulation is broken through. Monitoring and testing on eddy current retarder are achieved efficiently and visually. Besides, the virtual test data is not only compared with the practical vehicle test data to correct the technical parameter of eddy current retarder, but also compared with the simulation of mathematical models for further study. The testing system gives evaluation on the performance of the retarder in different vehicles, so it expands application range and heightens testing efficiency.
