An intracorporeal space filling device and a delivery system and method for using the device is disclosed. The space filling device is preferably configured for percutaneous delivery from a peripheral conduit of a patient. The space filling device has an elongated tubular or interconnected bead structure which may have a transmutable material disposed within it. The transmutable material can be altered from a non-rigid state to a rigid state by the application of various types of energy or by other suitable means. The space filling device can be positioned by a delivery system and detached from the delivery system after desired positioning is achieved.

A vibration dampening system for a motor shaft in an electric submersible pump ESP uses axially extending arms in one or opposed directions from a fixed portion of a motor shaft bearing. The weights can have their location adjusted to tune the device to the natural frequencies of the rotating shaft and to add an ability to address vibration in more than one plane. Openings are provided in the support for the arms that hold the weight so that arm vibration can create turbulence and improve heat dissipation in the oil for improved bearing life. Bearing cost can be reduced using more economical materials without sacrificing bearing life.

The invention relates to a method for operation of a motor system ( 1 ), or a motor system ( 1 ), comprising an electrical motor ( 2 ) and an add-on module ( 3 ), whereby the add-on module ( 3 ) is mounted on the electrical motor ( 1 ), by means of a fixing system ( 11 ). A first fixing system ( 11 ) may be exchanged for a second fixing system ( 12 ) of a different type and is exchanged to alter the vibration characteristics of the motor system ( 1 ). A motor system ( 1 ) is furthermore provided with different fixing positions ( 13, 15, 17, 19 ) for the fitting of the add-on module ( 3 ) to the electrical motor ( 2 ) by means of fixing systems ( 11 ). The fixing positions ( 13, 15, 17, 19 ) are only partly occupied by a fixing system ( 11 ), whereby a change in vibration characteristics for the motor system ( 1 ) may be particularly achieved, by means of changing the occupation of the fixing positions ( 13, 15, 17, 19 )

Method and device for altering the vibration characteristics of a motor system

A vibration absorber is provided for reducing noise and vibration emanating from an electric motor, or another vibrating object, and the surrounding structure to which it is mounted. The vibration absorber has a beam with a mass secured thereto. The vibration absorber is mounted externally to the motor, in a direction perpendicular to an axis of torsional vibration of the motor. The absorber is tuned to have a resonant frequency corresponding to the torsional vibrational frequency of the motor.
