Journal ArticleDOI
Gastric emptying using three different formulas in infants with gastroesophageal reflux.
TL;DR: The data suggest that formula selection may be important in the treatment of conditions associated with delayed gastric emptying and the percentage of time GER was detected by scintigraphy using three different formulas on consecutive days in infants with GER.
Journal Article
Histopathologic changes in airway mucosa of infants after endotracheal intubation
TL;DR: The duration of the intubation was the most important single clinical factor related to damage of the airway when a properly fitted tube was used and may explain why necrosis is more extensive in the trachea and why complications occur most frequently in the subglottic area
Journal ArticleDOI
Endotracheal tube position in the infant.
TL;DR: The locations of endotracheal tubes were assessed radiographically in 36 of 52 intubated infants during a 11/2 year period to ensure proper placement and for maintenance of the tube in the trachea.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of computerized tomography and chest x-rays in evaluating efficacy of aerosolized recombinant human DNase in cystic fibrosis patients younger than age 5 years: a preliminary study.
Samya Z. Nasr,Lawrence R. Kuhns,Randall W. Brown,Martin E. Hurwitz,Georgiana M. Sanders,Peter J. Strouse +5 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of high‐resolution computerized tomography of the chest and chest x‐rays to determine efficacy of inhaled recombinant human DNase (rhDNase) in cystic fibrosis patients younger than 5 years of age.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fatal lumbar puncture: fact versus fiction--an approach to a clinical dilemma.
TL;DR: An accurate clinical history combined with recognition of the early systemic and neurologic findings of bacterial meningitis will indicate a safe setting for performance of a diagnostic lumbar puncture with little likelihood of complicating herniation.
