Liquid solubilization dynamics: Oleic acid in bile salt

TL;DR: The solubilization dynamics of oleic acid by aqueous sodium taurodeoxycholate solutions at 37°C does not conform to previous resistance in series models involving diffusion and interfacial steps as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrodynamics and mass transfer characteristics of a liquid/liquid stirred cell

TL;DR: In this paper, the hydrodynamics and mass transfer characteristics of a stirred cell for contacting immiscible phases are examined using a similarity solution for a rotating disk in laminar flow, such that the interface is stationary, and the rate of diffusion in the absence of any interfacial resistance is obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mass transfer with heterogeneous and first order homogeneous reaction using the film theory

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of mass transfer with both first order irreversible homogeneous and an arbitrary heterogeneous reaction has been analyzed using the film theory, subject to the assumption of a linear profile of reactant between the bulk phase and the reaction surface.
