High-Selectivity On-Chip Optical Bandpass Filter With Sub-100-MHz Flat-Top and Under-2 Shape Factor
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate a fully tunable microwave photonic bandpass filter fabricated with Si3N4/SiO2 waveguides on a chip, which is based on coupled resonator optical waveguide architecture comprising a chain of eight coupled ring resonators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multipass Performance of a Chip-Enhanced WSS for Nyquist-WDM Sub-Band Switching
Bill Corcoran,Chen Zhu,Jochen Schröder,Leimeng Zhuang,Benjamin Foo,Maurizio Burla,Willem P. Beeker,Arne Leinse,Chris G. H. Roeloffzen,Arthur J. Lowery +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a 4% guardband, quadrature-phase-shift-keying encoded Nyquist wavelength division multiplexing super channel can successfully pass through seven EWSS nodes, and the number of reachable nodes with varied guardbands is investigated, showing that a modest increase in guardband can translate to a significant increase in the number.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Separate carrier tuning scheme for integrated optical delay lines in photonic beamformers
Maurizio Burla,Muhammed R. H. Khan,David Marpaung,Leimeng Zhuang,Chris G. H. Roeloffzen,Arne Leinse,Marcel Hoekman,Rene Gerrit Heideman +7 more
TL;DR: For the first time, the carrier tuner, the delay elements and the optical sideband filter are integrated on the same chip, allowing to reduce the complexity of the delay unit and makes the bandwidth independent of the absolute RF frequency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flexible RF filter using a nonuniform SCISSOR.
TL;DR: This work presents a flexible radiofrequency (RF) filter using an integrated microwave photonic circuit that comprises a nonuniform side-coupled integrated spaced sequence of resonators (N-SCISSOR) that can be reconfigured by varying the N- SCISSOR parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
CRIT-Alternative Narrow-Passband Waveguide Filter for Microwave Photonic Signal Processors
TL;DR: In this article, a two-ring resonator-assisted asymmetrical Mach-Zehnder interferometer is used to realize a narrow-passband filter in the context of microwave photonics (MWP).
