The correlation between antioxidant enzyme activities and lipid peroxidation levels in Mentha pulegium organs grown in Ca2+, Mg2+, Cu2+, Zn2+ and Mn2+ stress conditions
Nilgün Candan,Leman Tarhan +1 more
TL;DR: The variations of antioxidant enzyme activities and lipid peroxidation (LPO) levels were investigated in all Mentha pulegium organs grown in the excess and absence of Ca2+, Mg2+ as macronutrients; Cu2+, Zn2+ and Mn2- as micronutrient and control conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Cooperative Learning on Students’ Understanding of Metallic Bonding
Burcin Acar,Leman Tarhan +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of instruction via newly developed teaching materials based on cooperative learning when compared to a traditional approach, on ninth grade students' understanding of metallic bonding was investigated, where the same teacher taught metallic bonding with cooperative learning to an experimental group and with a traditional teacher centred approach to a control group (N = 29).
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of some antioxidant vitamin- and trace element-supplemented diets on activities of SOD, CAT, GSH-Px and LPO levels in chicken tissues.
TL;DR: The effect of diets containing antioxidant vitamins and trace elements on chicken tissue activities of SOD, CAT, GSH‐Px and of LPO levels was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Cooperative Learning Strategies on Students' Understanding of Concepts in Electrochemistry.
Burcin Acar,Leman Tarhan +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the degree of effectiveness of cooperative learning instruction over a traditional approach on 11th grade students' understanding of electrochemistry and found that instruction for the cooperative group was more successful in remediation of the predetermined misconceptions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inquiry-Based Laboratory Activities in Electrochemistry: High School Students’ Achievements and Attitudes
Burçin Acar Şeşen,Leman Tarhan +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of inquiry-based laboratory activities on high school students' understanding of electrochemistry and attitudes towards chemistry and laboratory work were investigated, and the results indicated that instruction based on Inquiry-Based Laboratory Activities (IBLA) caused a significantly better acquisition of scientific concepts related to Electrochemistry, and produced significantly higher positive attitudes towards Chemistry and laboratory.
