Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of the internal-mammary-artery graft on 10-year survival and other cardiac events.
Floyd D. Loop,Bruce W. Lytle,Delos M. Cosgrove,Robert W. Stewart,Marlene Goormastic,G W Williams,Leonard A.R. Golding,Carl C. Gill,Peter C. Taylor,W C Sheldon +9 more
TL;DR: It was found that patients who had only vein grafts had a 1.61 times greater risk of death throughout the 10 years, as compared with those who received an internal-mammary-artery graft.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sternal wound complications after isolated coronary artery bypass grafting: Early and late mortality, morbidity, and cost of care
Floyd D. Loop,Bruce W. Lytle,Delos M. Cosgrove,Saade S. Mahfood,Martin C. McHenry,Marlene Goormastic,Robert W. Stewart,Leonard A.R. Golding,Paul C. Taylor +8 more
TL;DR: Of 6,504 consecutive patients who underwent isolated coronary bypass grafting in 1985 to 1987, 72 (1.1%) patients experienced sternal wound complications, and ten patients with wound complications died of multi-system failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aprotinin therapy for reoperative myocardial revascularization: a placebo-controlled study.
Delos M. Cosgrove,Blaine Heric,Bruce W. Lytle,Paul C. Taylor,Roberto Novoa,Leonard A.R. Golding,Robert W. Stewart,Patrick M. McCarthy,Floyd D. Loop +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that aprotinin is extremely effective in reducing bleeding and transfusion requirements and may increase the risk of graft thrombosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fifteen hundred coronary reoperations. Results and determinants of early and late survival.
Bruce W. Lytle,Floyd D. Loop,Delos M. Cosgrove,Paul C. Taylor,Marlene Goormastic,William A. Peper,Carl C. Gill,Leonard A.R. Golding,Robert W. Stewart +8 more
TL;DR: Patients undergoing a first reoperation for coronary revascularization were reviewed to determine early and late results and predictors of survival and advanced age (p less than 0.0001), Class III or IV symptoms (p = 0.0002), advanced age(s), Group A (p=0.0006), and incompleteRevascularization ( p =0.004) as predictor of increased in-hospital mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary Myocardial Revascularization Trends in Surgical Mortality
Delos M. Cosgrove,Floyd D. Loop,Bruce W. Lytle,Richard G. Baillot,Carl C. Gill,Leonard A.R. Golding,Paul C. Taylor,Marlene Goormastic +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, 24,672 patients underwent primary isolated myocardial revascularization: Group I, 4,517 patients operated upon from 1970 to 1973; Group II, 6,181 patients from 1974 to 1976; Group III, 6869 patients from 1977 to 1979; and Group IV, 7,105 patients from 1980 to 1982.
