In recent years, the Smart Energy Meter has attracted a lot of attention from all over the world. In this paper a design and prototyping a low-cost IoT energy monitoring is presented, which may be utilized in a variety of applications such as power billing, smart grid energy management, and home automation. The system is based on a low-cost ESP32 microcontroller that is interfaced non-invasive Current Transformer (CT) sensors, and voltage sensor to get data from sensor nodes and deliver it to a Blynk server over the internet. The studies' findings showed that the system for monitoring energy consumption can precisely record voltage, current, active power, and cumulative power consumption.

Mobile Web Energy Monitoring System Using DFRduino Uno

Home automation is the implementation of information technology and control system to facilitate the daily life easier. The growth of technology make smartphone can control the home appliances. An automated device can work more flexible and efficient, including the use in unlocking door. For busy family or busy people, it is not easy to get out of the seat only to reach the door for unlocking people that already have known and made appointment before. The proposed system presents friendly expense design and implementation of home automation to unlock the door with authentication through speech command or pin via smartphone application. So, it is not only the open button from smartphone application that anyone can control, but also it is added an interface for speech command or pin which also can be useful as security. Users can change the password used by themselves. Thus, only users who know the password can control to unlock the door. The smartphone application designed facilitate the users to be free to choose the authentication between speech command or pin. In speech command, users can easily open the door with say it. Another work being tried is open the door with pin. It can help disabled people with speech impaired to be still able use the application. The design of proposed method is based on Android smartphone application, Bluetooth module and Arduino Board. Android smartphone application is used for serial communication to the Bluetooth module which is connected in Arduino Board to unlock the door. Besides it has low cost, Bluetooth based wireless home automation system can be easy implemented in the home. The suggested system is tested and it gives the expected system with more feature as authentication, either with speech command or with pin. Speech command enacted to the system is also tested the Bluetooth connectivity. The farthest range is 14 m to the controlled hardware system.

Electricity meters are devices for electricity consumption measurements, which have been used and are still in use today with modern technologies. In some places, traditional electricity meters are replaced with smart electricity meters for more accuracy, efficiency, features, privacy, security and visibility in electricity measurements. Literature review was used in this study to compare traditional analogue electricity meters with digital electricity meters. Therefore, the achievements and challenges of 12 countries around the world (2 countries on each continent except Antarctic), which adopted smart electricity metering solutions, were also explored. The paper considered consumers electricity meters and not power grid meters. It was shown that deploying smart metering solutions improve grid reliability, enhance revenue management, reduce electricity losses, address billing and credit control difficulties, promote energy efficiency, improve services to customers, postpone construction of new power generation plants, reduce power theft and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  However, smart electricity metering solutions are not adopted worldwide because of: ageing and outdated infrastructures, inadequate resources, lack of integrated communication platforms, cost of deployment, transition from legacy systems, management of the vast amounts of data, compatibility of elder equipment, lack of standards and interoperability and changes in regulatory protocols and policies. The remote maintenance of home appliances, like washing machines, air conditioning, and heating system is a complex problem, but with the help of the ongoing developments on Internet of Things, Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence, the problem can now be tackled with success. This paper mostly focus in presenting the architecture developed within the aim of the SMART-PDM project for the acquisition of data on the operation of home appliances and then it also shows some preliminary results for washing machines, which give some hints on how to fine tune the system to achieve predictive maintenance and condition monitoring.

Design and Implementation of Web Based Home Electrical Appliance Monitoring, Diagnosing, and Controlling System

Now-a-days, coronary heart disease is one of the deadliest diseases in the world. An unfavorable lifestyle, lack of physical activity, and consuming tobacco are the causes of coronary heart disease aside from genetic inheritance. Sometimes the patient does not know whether he has abnormalities in heart function or not. Therefore, this study proposes a system that can detect heart abnormalities through the iris, known as the Iridology method. The system is designed automatically in the iris detection to the classification results. Feature extraction using five characteristics is applied to the Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix (GLCM) method. The classification process uses the Support Vector Machine (SVM) with linear kernel variation, Polynomial, and Gaussian to obtain the best accuracy in the system. From the system simulation results, the use of the Gaussian kernel can be relied on in the classification of iris conditions with an accuracy rate of 91%, then the Polynomial kernel accuracy reaches 89%, and the linear kernel accuracy reaches 87%. This study has succeeded in detecting heart conditions through the iris by dividing the iris into normal iris and abnormal iris. Identification of Coronary Heart Disease through Iris using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix and Support Vector Machine Classification

The number of primary energy sources in Indonesia will run out quickly. Therefore, innovation is required to provide renewable energy sources (NRE) that accommodate the increasing energy necessities. Hydrothermal is the potential degradation process of plastic waste to generate NRE. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the hydrothermal process in breaking down bulky raw materials and the role of zeolite as a catalyst to upgrade the quality of hydrochar as a novel solid fuel by evaluating the essential parameters through proximate and ultimate analysis.  The addition of zeolite in the hydrothermal process can increase the water content, ash content, and volatile matter and slightly decrease the calorific value and fixed carbon. The condition to obtain the best characteristics was temperature of 220 oC and the addition of 20 % zeolite.

Zeolite Effect on Solid Product Characteristics in Hydrothermal Treatment of Household Waste

The need for a communication system with a higher data rate and mobility grows along with information and communication technology development. Combining MC-CDMA with the MIMO system and supporting the system with a good transmit diversity technique is a promising idea to provide the needed communication system, especially in high mobility conditions. MC-CDMA can support ubiquitous communications without affecting the achievable BER and is more capable of high-speed mobility. It integrates the benefit of both OFDM and CDMA. On the other hand, QO-STBC increases the bit rate without using additional bandwidth to transmit diversity in the MIMO system. So, this study proposed a system combining the MIMO MC-CDMA system with QO-STBC. The proposed system is investigated under high mobility conditions to see the system's performance. The simulation results show that our system performs better than the MC-CDMA STBC system and the QOSTBC system but not better than the MC-CDMA multilevel coding scheme. To reach the value of BER 10−3, MC-CDMA multilevel Coding requires less power, around 5 dB, than the proposed system.

The provision of electricity is crucial, so efficiency must be done because electrical energy is a top priority for residential, industrial, and outdoor lights. All tiers of society must support the government's efforts to ensure the stability of the nation's energy supply through initiatives to boost supply and conserve energy. The public, particularly the lower middle class, do not yet understand the existing technology well; the information of its benefits and drawbacks have not been equally spread. Energy researchers and experts assert that the domestic or household sector's contribution to the attempt to cut power usage is very significant due to the comparatively high share of residential consumers. A project must be carried out to provide counseling in the form of instruction on cost savings when utilizing electrical and electronic gadgets in homes and schools. The counseling results revealed that the teachers of SDN 09 Pontianak Timur were genuinely interested in what they were hearing and in the presented curriculum. Through the counseling technique it is observed that the community is becoming more conscious of the need to utilize electrical energy more intelligently and is gaining new insights into how to do so. These insights help the community promoting energy efficiency in daily life.
