Journal ArticleDOI

Oil and fat in broiler nutrition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the energetic value of oils and fats using titration, moisture, impurities, unsaponifiable, saponification value, percentage of fat, percentage percentage of free fatty acids/acidity and the profile of fatty acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of lipid sources in the diet of laying hens on the fatty acid profiles of egg yolks

TL;DR: The addition of linseed oil to the ration of laying hens resulted in the production of n-3-enriched eggs and excellent n-6:n-3 ratios, and the egg yolks had insignificant amounts of trans fat, irrespective of the different lipid sources added to the diets or the age of the chickens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Qualidade de ovos de consumo submetidos a diferentes condições de armazenamento

TL;DR: In this article, the internal quality of 768 commercial white eggs from 40-week-old Hy-Line laying hens was evaluated after storage under different conditions, and it was concluded that temperature and time of storage of eggs influenced on the values of HU and wrapping the eggs packages with plastic film improved their internal quality.
Journal ArticleDOI

An evaluation of alternative methods for sanitizing hatching eggs

TL;DR: The potential for the application of PAA and UV-C for eggshell disinfection instead of formaldehyde is demonstrated, however, an electronic microscopic evaluation of the eggshell is necessary to determine if these methods cause any damage to the cuticle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efeito de fontes lipídicas sobre o desempenho de frangos de corte

TL;DR: Soybean oil diet resulted in better broiler performance in comparison to acidulated soybean oil soapstock diet, and no treatment effect was observed for feed:weight gain ratio and viability.
