TL;DR: Data indicate that coincident with each occurrence of a shift from a period of slow wave sleep to aperiod of rapid-eye movement sleep a reversal of the deviations of the individual ratios from the overall mean ratio took place, indicating a change in interhemispheric amplitude relationships.

TL;DR: The findings indicate that the electroencephalogram of male institutionalized chronic schizophrenics tends to be hyperregulated, similar hyperregulation is produced in normal volunteers by threshold and larger doses of lysergic acid diethylamide.

Amplitude Analysis of The Electroencephalogram: Review of the Information Obtained with the Integrative Method
TL;DR: In this paper, a correlation was found between the level of EEG amplitude variability and psychological behavioral ratings of chronic schizophrenics, and it was concluded that the integrative method of EEG analysis provides both, more information and a different kind of information than that derived from visual inspection of EEG records alone.
