In this paper, a novel quad-band combination of circularly-polarized microstrip antenna is proposed. This antenna has multi-frequency and quad-polarization with multiple coaxial probes, which cover four bands of the BeiDou navigation system (BDS), meeting different application requirements. By using a stacked structure to achieve feed and using symmetrical slotted method to place the coaxial probes, the multi-frequency antenna is connected together through the middle co-aperture. Meanwhile, the feed position and size are constantly optimized until get the most suitable one, and the necessary perturbation is obtained. We also introduce a broadband stripline 90 ◦ bridge. Ultimately, the circularly-polarized and multi-frequency operation is achieved. Furthermore, the novel design enables easy implementation, miniaturization, wide band, which can meet the application requirements and promote the development of the BDS, which can be combined with the Internet of Things technology, applied to life and production.

A novel design of quad-band combination of circularly polarized microstrip antenna

A tri-band antenna is designed by using the coplanar waveguide feeding method. In order to reduce the size of the antenna, a hollow rectangular stepped structure is constructed. The three operating frequencies are 2.9 GHz, 3.3 GHz and 4.1 GHz respectively, which meet the requirements of 5G (5th Generation) communication and radio navigation frequency bands respectively. And the circular polarization is realized at the resonance frequency of 4.1 GHz. The size of the antenna is only 40×40 mm2, and it has the advantages of simple structure, wide coverage frequency band, and good radiation performance.

A Compact Tri-band Single Circularly Polarized Antenna

A novel microstrip antenna is designed of multiband and triple polarization with common-aperture fed through only a single coaxial probe,which covers triple band of Beidou. L band of Beidou1 radiates LHCP wave and S band radiates RHCP wave according to perturbation. Dual-band structure is stimulated by the outside and inside patches nested in a single substrate. Meanwhile,L band of Beidou2 is achieved by electromagnetic coupling feed,which radiates linearly polarized wave. And the antenna is definitely fed through a single coaxial from the bottom with tray capacitive coupling to broaden the operation bandwidth,which effectively compensates for a usual low axial ratio bandwidth for a single feed.
