Journal ArticleDOI

Improving weld strength of arc-assisted ultrasonic seam welded Mg/Al joint with Sn interlayer

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) assisted hybrid ultrasonic seam welding with Sn interlayer was designed to join Mg to Al alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructure and properties of Mg/Al joint welded by gas tungsten arc welding-assisted hybrid ultrasonic seam welding

TL;DR: In this article, a novel gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) assisted hybrid ultrasonic seam welding MgAZ31B and Al6061 alloy sheets with satisfactory joint strength were successfully achieved using a previous GTAW preheating heat source.
Journal ArticleDOI

Joining of magnesium and aluminum via arc-assisted ultrasonic seam welding with Sn/Zn composite interlayer

TL;DR: In this paper, an arc-assisted ultrasonic seam welding technique with Sn/Zn composite interlayer was used to join Mg and Al alloys via a novel arc assisted seam welding method.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel rotating wire GMAW process to change fusion zone shape and microstructure of mild steel

TL;DR: In this article, the rotary motion of the wire transferred additional momentum into weld pool and bestowed the latter with rotating fluid flow characteristics, which increased the tensile strength of the weld metal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arc assisted ultrasonic seam welding of Mg/Al joints with Zn interlayer

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of Zn interlayer on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the joints were investigated in detail, and the results indicated that the interlayer could restrain the formation of brittle Mg-Al IMCs, which were replaced by Mg−Zn IMCs.
