Evaluation of glyphosate drift and anthropogenic atmospheric trace elements contamination by means of lichen transplants in a southern Italian agricultural district

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used transplanted thalli of the lichen Pseudevernia furfuracea (Pfisteria) to detect the drift of glyphosate and trace elements in a southern Italian agricultural district.
Journal ArticleDOI

Element concentrations in the lichen Pseudevernia furfuracea (L.) Zopf transplanted around a cement factory (S Italy)

TL;DR: In this article, ICP-MS was used to analyze Pseudevernia furfuracea (L.) Zopf collected from an unpolluted area were transplanted for 3 months at 60 sites around a cement factory in S Italy and then analyzed by ICPMS for their Al, Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na and V contents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial variation of eco-physiological parameters in the lichen Pseudevernia furfuracea transplanted in an area surrounding a cement plant (S Italy).

TL;DR: The results indicate that there is no clear spatial trend in mycobiont impairment even though the IEF values suggest a higher number of sites with low levels of membrane lipid peroxidation in the 2-–3-km distance band from the cement plant than in the two other distance bands.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial Variation in the Accumulation of Elements in Thalli of the Lichen Pseudevernia furfuracea (L.) Zopf Transplanted Around a Biomass Power Plant in Italy

TL;DR: Thalli of the lichen Pseudevernia furfuracea were transplanted for 3 months at 32 sites located in and around an industrial area of S Italy to indicate an association between the biomass power plant and spatial variation of Ti, Co, Al, and V levels in the transplanted lichens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biological and chemical monitoring of some major Calabrian (Italy) Rivers.

TL;DR: Overall the above results suggest that E.B.I. variations seem to be highly coherent with changes of main biodiversity parameters and their joined application is an efficient tool for detecting ecological state alterations of lotic environments.
