Comparative therapeutic efficacy and safety of type‐II collagen (uc‐II), glucosamine and chondroitin in arthritic dogs: pain evaluation by ground force plate

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of type-II collagen (UC-II) alone or in combination with glucosamine hydrochloride (GLU) and chondroitin sulphate (CHO), and determined their tolerability and safety.
Journal ArticleDOI

Therapeutic Efficacy and Safety of Undenatured Type II Collagen Singly or in Combination with Glucosamine and Chondroitin in Arthritic Dogs

TL;DR: Data of this placebo-controlled study demonstrate that daily treatment of arthritic dogs with UC-II alone or in combination with glucosamine and chondroitin markedly alleviatesArthritic-associated pain, and these supplements are well tolerated as no side effects were noted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficacy and safety of glycosylated undenatured type‐II collagen (UC‐II) in therapy of arthritic dogs§

TL;DR: It is suggested that daily treatment of arthritic dogs with UC-II ameliorates signs and symptoms of arthritis, andUC-II is well tolerated as no adverse effects were noted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Therapeutic efficacy of undenatured type-II collagen (UC-II) in comparison to glucosamine and chondroitin in arthritic horses.

TL;DR: Arthritic pain in horses receiving daily placebo, undenatured type II collagen (UC-II) at 320, 480, or 640 mg (providing 80, 120, and 160 mg active UC-II, respectively), and glucosamine and chondroitin (5.4 and 1.8 g, respectively, bid for the first month, and thereafter once daily) for 150 days was evaluated.
