Two-dimensional amorphous CoO photocatalyst for efficient overall water splitting with high stability

In this paper, we are interested to study the structural optical and electrical properties of Zn1−xMnxO (
 $$0\le x\le 003$$
 ) nanoparticles (Nps) The Nps were synthesized by the co-precipitation method X-ray diffraction patterns reveal the formation of a single-phase hexagonal wurtzite-type ZnO structure for all samples Moreover, the Photoluminescence emission spectra for the entire samples confirm the presence of various defect centers inside the doped ZnO wurtzite nanostructure The electrical measurements were performed in the 40–10 MHz frequency range and 460–620 K temperature intervals It is revealed that the DC conductivity increases with temperature which follows the Arrhenius law Besides, The variation of DC conductivity with Mn content shows gradual decrease which is explained by formation of grain boundary defect barrier It is noted that, the Ea values are found to increase with the increase in Mn concentration The AC conductivity curves were analyzed by Jonscher power law The obtained results are discussed in terms of the correlated barrier hopping model

Synthesis, optical and electrical properties of Mn doped ZnO nanoparticles

The effect of Co doping on optical, structural and electrical properties of Ni1−xCoxO thin films has been successfully deposited on glass substrate by Sol–Gel Sping coating technique. The main objective of this research is to study the Ni1−xCoxO thin films to determine the optical gap energy by various methods and compare of calculated values. The transmission spectra show that the Ni1−xCoxO thin films have a good optical transparency in the visible region. The optical gap energy was varied between 3.8 and 4.05 eV, which was determined by various methods and equations. These are found in the drawn of A, A2, α, α2 (Ahν)2 and (αhν)2 as a function of the photon energy hν, the suitable method to calculate the optical energy was observed for (Ahν)2 versus hν, but this method can not be related to the film thickness. The urbach energy of the Ni1−xCoxO thin films also was determined by the curves of LnA and Lnα as a function of photon energy hν. The deduce by LnA versus hν is also suitable to estimate the urbach energy. However, the Ni0.96Co0.04O thin films have a few defects with minimum value of urbach energy. XRD patterns of the Ni1−xCoxO thin films indicate that some films are polycrystalline with cubic structure. The electrical conductivity of our films is in the order of 8.2*10−3(Ω.cm)1.

The calculate of optical gap energy and urbach energy of Ni1−xCoxO thin films

In this work nanocrystalline nickel oxide (NiO) thin films were successfully prepared by oxygen plasma treatment of nickel films deposited on quartz substrates by direct current magnetron sputtering technique. The prepared films were characterized by XRD, XPS, FTIR, RBS, AFM, FESEM and spectrophotometry for investigation of oxygen plasma treatment power effect on structural, morphological and optical properties of prepared films. It was found that NiO films crystallize in cubic phase structure and an oxygen plasma treatment powers effectively influenced the preferred orientations. The FESEM and AFM images showed a granular structure with spherical shapes of grains for all prepared films. The size of grains was in range 23–30 nm. The transmittance and optical band gap were found to be sensitive to plasma power.

Structural, Morphological and Optical Properties of Nanostructure Nickel Oxide Thin Films on Quartz Substrates Grown by Plasma Oxidation

AC conductivity and dielectric studies of Cd0.8Sn0.2S thin films

Non-crystalline zinc nickel oxide has been deposited on glass substrate using spray pyrolysis. The structural and optical properties were examined using XRD and UV–visible spectrophotometry. These films are characterized by a direct band gap and the optical band gap energy value is lying between 3.66 eV and 3.79 eV. The electrical conductivity was investigated at different temperatures (330–450 °C) by using the impedance spectroscopy technique in a frequency range from 5 Hz to 13 MHz. The value of s is dependent on temperature, which tends to decrease depending on the temperature. The temperature dependence of both the AC conductivity and the parameter s is interpreted by the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model. These films revealed a hydrophilic character. Moreover, in the presence of these samples, a photodegradation of methyl blue (MB) and effective mineralization occurred; 14 mg/L of MB was degraded within 120 min. Finally, elements from the Lattice Compatibility Theory were presented in order to understand partial non-crystallization of the ZnO-NiO binary structure.
