TL;DR: In this paper, the system parameters effects on supersonic panel flutter behavior of laminated composite skew plates were investigated using a shear deformable finite element approach, and the first-order high Mach number approximation to linear potential flow theory was employed for evaluating the aerodynamic pressure.

Abstract: The transient flexural response analysis of anisotropic laminated composite plates of bimodulus materials subjected to mechanical loading is carried out in this study. The formulation is based on the higher-order theory that accounts for the transverse shear and transverse normal deformations, and incorporates the nonlinear through-the-thickness approximations of the in-plane and transverse displacements. The governing equations obtained using the Lagrange’s equations of motion are solved through the finite element approach. The results obtained are compared with the first-order shear deformation theory. The combined influence of the higher-order shear deformation, plate geometry, lay-up, and ply-angle on the response history of displacements and stresses of bimodulus angle-ply composite laminates is examined.
