Journal ArticleDOI
Precise measurement of the lattice parameters of α-Al2O3 in the temperature range 4.5–250 K using the Mössbauer wavelength standard
TL;DR: In this article, the lattice parameters of α-Al2O3 have been measured in a temperature range from 4.5 to 250 K with a relative accuracy of better than 6 × 10−6.
Journal ArticleDOI
X-Ray Interferometry with Microelectronvolt Resolution
Yu. V. Shvyd'ko,M. Lerche,Hans-Christian Wille,E. Gerdau,M. Lucht,H. D. Rüter,Esen E. Alp,R. Khachatryan +7 more
TL;DR: An interferometer for hard x rays with two back-reflecting sapphire crystal mirrors--a prototype x-ray Fabry-Pérot interferometers--is demonstrated, observed directly in spectral dependences of reflectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
γ -Ray Wavelength Standard for Atomic Scales
Yu. V. Shvyd'ko,M. Lerche,J. Jäschke,M. Lucht,E. Gerdau,M. Gerken,H. D. Rüter,Hans-Christian Wille,Peter Becker,Esen E. Alp,Wolfgang Sturhahn,J. P. Sutter,Thomas S. Toellner +12 more
TL;DR: The wavelength of the 57Fe Mössbauer radiation is measured with a relative uncertainty of 0.19 ppm by using almost exact Bragg backscattering from a reference silicon crystal and could be used as a length standard of atomic dimensions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anomalous isotopic effect on the lattice parameter of silicon.
Hans-Christian Wille,Yu. V. Shvyd'ko,E. Gerdau,M. Lerche,M. Lucht,H. D. Rüter,Jörg Zegenhagen +6 more
TL;DR: The experimental data are consistent with an approach based on the density-functional perturbation theory, and the anomalous behavior is attributed to the influence of phonon modes with negative Grüneisen parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring wavelengths and lattice constants with the Mössbauer wavelength standard
Yu. V. Shvyd'ko,M. Lucht,E. Gerdau,M. Lerche,Esen E. Alp,Wolfgang Sturhahn,J. P. Sutter,T. S. Toellner +7 more
TL;DR: The wavelength of the 57Fe Mossbauer radiation was measured in this paper with a relative accuracy of ∼ 0.5 p.p.m, and the lattice constants of Al2O3 were measured in a temperature range from 286'K to 374'K.
