Journal ArticleDOI
Isodose mapping of terrestrial gamma radiation dose rate of Selangor state, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Malaysia.
M.S.M. Sanusi,Ahmad Termizi Ramli,Hamman Tukur Gabdo,N. N. Garba,A. Heryanshah,Husin Wagiran,Mohamad Nor Said +6 more
TL;DR: A terrestrial gamma radiation survey for the state of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya was conducted to obtain baseline data for environmental radiological health practices and the mean terrestrial gamma dose rate in air above the ground was 182 ± 81 nGy h(-1).
Journal ArticleDOI
Terrestrial gamma radiation dose rates and radiological mapping of Terengganu state, Malaysia
N. N. Garba,N. N. Garba,Ahmad Termizi Ramli,Muneer Aziz Saleh,Muneer Aziz Saleh,M.S.M. Sanusi,Hamman Tukur Gabdo +6 more
TL;DR: Measurement of terrestrial gamma radiation dose rates in Terengganu state, Malaysia was carried out from 145 different locations using NaI[Tl] micro roentgen survey meter and the data obtained were used in constructing the gamma isodose map which shows the distribution of TGRD rates across the state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of impact of urbanisation on background radiation exposure and human health risk estimation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
M.S.M. Sanusi,Ahmad Termizi Ramli,Wan Muhamad Saridan Wan Hassan,Muhammad Hisyam Lee,A. Izham,Mohd Nor Said,Husin Wagiran,A. Heryanshah +7 more
TL;DR: There was small probability for individual in Kuala Lumpur being diagnosed with cancer and dying of cancer, and the estimated effective dose in this study is lower than the ICRP reference level and too low to cause deterministic radiation effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thorium distribution in the soils of Peninsular Malaysia and its implications for Th resource estimation
M.S.M. Sanusi,Ahmad Termizi Ramli,Nor Afifah Basri,A. Heryanshah,Mohd Nor Said,Muhammad Hisyam Lee,Husin Wagiran,Muneer Aziz Saleh +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a preliminary investigation of thorium availability in Peninsular Malaysia is presented, which is based on assessment of Th contents in soil, and four series of regional on-ground explorations are implemented to obtain the baseline data of Th availability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiological hazard associated with amang processing industry in Peninsular Malaysia and its environmental impacts
TL;DR: The study found out that the aquatic environment is the highly exposed group to ionizing radiation from industrial effluent discharge and sand residues and it is necessary for the government to harmonize current regulation to improve the worker safety and health as well as sustaining local environment.
