Optimisation of Noosa BNR plant to improve performance and reduce operating costs

TL;DR: It was concluded that there were several factors causing variability in phosphorus removal, rather than a single cause, and increasing the fermenter VFA yield via supplementary carbon dosing with molasses was found to be an effective and economic way of ensuring reliable phosphorus removal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrogen removal in a SBR using the OGAR process control system.

TL;DR: The principal aim of this project is to demonstrate the capability of OGAR to achieve concentrations of total nitrogen in the treated effluent of less than 10 mg/L, which are typically stipulated by Queensland's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of the full-scale biological nutrient removal plant at Noosa in Queensland, Australia: nutrient removal and disinfection

TL;DR: Long-term performance data and specific results on nitrogen removal and disinfection are presented in this paper.

Optimisation of Noosa BNR plant of improve performance and reduce operating costs

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the cause of variability in phosphorus removal at Noosa WWTP and developed a strategy to control the variability of phosphorus removal and minimise the operating cost of supplementary carbon dosing.
