Nowadays, taking care the welfare of the employee is very important in order to ensure them to hard work in achieve the organizational goal. The aim of the study is to establish the effect of compensation and benefits towards employee performance. The objective of this research is firstly, to evaluate the level of employee performance. Secondly, this research aims to examine the relationship between compensation and benefits towards employee performance. Lastly, determine the effect of the compensation and benefits towards employee performance. This research carried out at XYZ College. This study used the survey research method where 100 questionnaire were distributes among lectures of XYZ College with population of 100 lectures which make the sample is 80 respondents. The data collected were analysed and interpreted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Based on the result, it is found that the performance level of lecturers is at medium and high level. In addition, there is a positive correlation between compensation and employee performance. Moreover, the compensation and benefits also give a positive effect on employee performance.

Virtual work intensity, job satisfaction, and the mediating role of work-family balance: A study of employees in Germany and China

This study examined the interceding influence of work–life balance (WLB) among library staff at the Kenneth Dike Library and its implication for the provision of information. The research sought to respond to the following questions: the effect of demographic variables on the WLB of librarians and their perceptions of WLB within the intimate environment.,This study adopted a positivist research paradigm because the nature of the research revealed a single social reality which can be measured quantitatively, using a reliable instrument such as a questionnaire. The total sampling technique was used to zero in on the staff of the library, in which the entire library population was included in the study.,The findings suggest that male librarians enjoy a better WLB than their female counterparts. Also, the results indicate that librarians, irrespective of their marital status, focused on job-related activities minding their marital status and therefore, marital status could influence the WLB of librarians. Similarly, priority is not being given to their work, to the detriment of caring for the family.,The study suggests that age causes the WLB to change, the implication being that an ageing workforce has an impact on adaptation, output and innovation.,This paper sheds light on the WLB among librarians at the Kenneth Dike Library (KDL); therefore, information acquired from this study is imaginative and valuable to understand better how information professionals react to official and personal engagement.

Work–life balance of librarians at the Kenneth Dike library in Nigeria: Implications for the provision of library services

This paper explores the academic experiences of women academicians in India during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data was collected through online questionnaires from 87 women faculty members teaching in colleges and universities. Findings indicate that increased household work of women due to the pandemic and resulting lockdown has amplified their effort in executing their teaching and examination related duties, but they have ensured that their remote teaching performance has largely remained unaffected. However, the pandemic seems to have had adverse effects on research of women faculty that is likely to impinge on their future prospects of career advancement. Managing the increased demands of teaching and household work and maintaining work-life balance has been stressful for them.

Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on academic performance and work–life balance of women academicians

The increase in the level of literacy, standard of living, changing societal attitudes, and a quest for economic independence are considered to increase female employment. However, elements, including responsibilities towards family, job demands, reduced autonomy in jobs, and increased work hours, are expected to reduce female employment. The education sector is the largest employer of women in India and is undergoing rapid changes because of multiple demands from stakeholders. This study investigates the status of work–life balance (WLB) among female non instructional staff at private universities. Moreover, motivations to work, challenges, work pressure, and their mental and physical health-related outcomes have been studied.

Women's Work-Life Balance: Compensation is the Key

Entrepreneurs are argued to have higher foresight, ability to handle complex situations, and superior planning. This qualitative study attempted to validate these assertions in the pandemic context of COVID19. The pandemic created a complex and chaotic business environment. The information was available to businesspersons of the region before a quarter. Did they show adequate foresight to assimilate information and respond to the crisis? How complex was the situation for planning? What entrepreneurial characteristics were demonstrated? A qualitative study design sought and analyzed business owner’s responses to these questions. Though the findings are not generalizable, it indicated inadequate but reactive response. Secondly, the challenge of reduced cash flow prompted cost cutting as an operational response. The plan of winning trust in transactions was also an operational response. A few perceived pandemic as an opportunity for product innovation. Business owners demonstrated empathy toward their employees. Interestingly, most business owners indicated fluidity and inadequate information as a barrier for planning. Information acquisition, seeking help from network, responding to imminent events, wait and watch, were predominant operational responses, whereas innovation and shifting of sectors were strategic responses considered by few entrepreneurs. The perception of superior entrepreneurial abilities in anticipating events, planning, strategizing, and handling complexity was less evidenced in this study.
