Journal ArticleDOI

Control of Aspergillus flavus in maize with plant essential oils and their components.

TL;DR: The effects of 11 plant essential oils for maize kernel protection against Aspergillus flavus were studied and no phytotoxic effect on germination and corn growth was detected with any of these oils.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aflatoxin M1 in pasteurized and ultrapasteurized milk with different fat content in Mexico.

TL;DR: High per capita milk consumption in Mexico indicated a strong need for documentation of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) levels in milk, and a survey of 580, 2-liter samples was conducted to quantify AFM1 using high-performance liquid chromatography, considering two maximum tolerance levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Does Aflatoxin Exposure in the United Kingdom Constitute a Cancer Risk

TL;DR: Examining human colon and rectum DNA from normal and tumorous tissue obtained from cancer patients and colon, liver, pancreas, breast, and cervix DNA from autopsy specimens found aflatoxin B1-DNA adducts were detected in all tissue types examined and levels generally increased with patient age.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aflatoxin B1 and its interconverting metabolite aflatoxicol in milk: the situation in Mexico

TL;DR: There was a significant correlation between contamination of milk with AFL and the autumn (p<0.0002); the fat content was not significant); the safest milk in relation to AFL contamination was imported milk powder with vegetable oil.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aflatoxin (B1 , B2 , G1 , and G2 ) contamination in rice of Mexico and Spain, from local sources or imported.

TL;DR: The purpose of this study was to identify and quantify AF in 67 rice samples cultivated in Mexico and Spain, and from imported crops collected in 2008 and 2009, and found the imported rice had better quality in terms of the presence of AFs.
