The paper, presents a novel multi-band antenna for LTE700/WiMAX/WLAN bands. The proposed antenna is configured to have three radiating elements such as folded loop line, rectangular patch inserting meandered slit, and L-shaped ground branch which is closely coupled to the feed line. The substrate used for this antenna is FR4 with the relative permittivity of 4.4, with low profile of 0.8 mm × 40 mm × 85 mm. It operates in three bands of frequency. A lower band covers the LTE700 operations, middle band covers the WLAN operations while the upper band deals with WiMAX operations. By inserting the folded loop line and L-shaped ground branch, the LTE700, WiMAX and unlicensed LTE operations have VSWR < 2 and RL < −10 dB. By adding the rectangular patch with a meander slit, WLAN band operations have VSWR < 2 and RL < —10 dB. The return loss and radiation patterns of the suggested antenna are simulated by IE3D software by ZELAND. The computed results show good Omni-directional radiation pattern and radiation gain. According to the results, the proposed antenna can be used for mobile handset, as an application of following bands, such as LTE700, WiMAX, WLAN and unlicensed LTE band.

In this paper, we present a new, simple multiband micro strip antenna mounted on a compact, no ground portion of a system circuit board of a mobile phone with a low profile of 15mm×20mm×11.2mm. The proposed antenna is 3D with an open-ended loop antenna having coaxial feed. It operates at two wide band frequencies, so that it covers multiband such as GSM850/900/ DCS1800/ PCS1900/ UMTS2100/ LTE2300 /2500/2700-3100 radar and radio navigation operation. It provides multiple resonant modes at 900, 1800, 2450, and 2900MHz. It supports the applications of a cellular system and IEEE Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and radio navigation and provides lightweight, low cost, multiband functionality. Performance analysis shows improved radiation efficiency, antenna gain and radiation pattern along with a sufficient reduction in return loss. Detailed design considerations of the proposed antenna are described. The simulation analysis is performed by using IE3D software.
