A review on the application of inorganic nano-structured materials in the modification of textiles: focus on anti-microbial properties

TL;DR: This review paper has focused on the properties and applications of inorganic nano-structured materials with good anti-microbial activity potential for textile modification and the application methods for the modification of textiles using nano- structured materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced self-cleaning, antibacterial and UV protection properties of nano TiO2 treated textile through enzymatic pretreatment.

TL;DR: The self‐cleaning properties of the fabrics were examined through evaluating the color removal from the stained fabric with Acid Blue 113 and the antibacterial properties were determined by reduction growth of a Gram‐negative bacteria E. coli.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new method to stabilize nanoparticles on textile surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, PET fabric samples were treated with crosslinkable polysiloxane via different methods, simultaneous or after treatment with various concentrations of nanosized colloidal silver, and compared against Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus according to AATCC 100.
Journal ArticleDOI

In situ synthesis of nano silver on cotton using Tollens’ reagent

TL;DR: In this article, a green method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles on the cotton fabric surface through using Tollens' reagent was introduced, where silver nitrate (AgNO3) was transformed to Ag2O followed by an aqueous solution with ammonia.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel technique for producing durable multifunctional textiles using nanocomposite coating

TL;DR: Results showed that the hydrophilicity-hydrophobicity of treated substrate can be adjusted over a broad range by controlling the concentrations of these two nanoparticles and the XPs ratio, and can be helpful for increasing the bioactivity and the general photo-catalytic activity of TiO(2).
