And your employer expects you to have the required skills to start working immediately without putting you through an on-site training program. Experts call it “out of the box” working, and internship plays a crucial role in on-the-job training even before you are offered a job!

Abstract: Universities are expected to provide education in a broad spectrum of disciplines. However, during the last several decades, many higher educational institutions in India have become too discipline-specific. While some of these institutions have received global recognition for their high quality of education and learning outcomes, these institutions have also become discipline-specific. There is a greater need now to introduce multi-disciplinary education in Indian higher educational institutes (HEIs). However, while doing so, we also need to ensure that students canmigrate between institutions and across disciplinary boundaries. They should also be able to earn credits through different delivery mechanisms – physical, online or hybrid modes – leading to the award of qualifications. This is an important policy decision of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
TL;DR: The Digital University can entirely solve the issue related to seats in our universities as mentioned in this paper , and the possible transformation in the education if there are unlimited seats on a particular subject. But during the pandemic, everyone realised the importance of our efforts.
