Quantitative determination of a subsurface defect of reference specimen by lock-in infrared thermography

TL;DR: In this article, a lock-in infrared thermography (LIT) was used to estimate the sizes and locations of subsurface defects using a fixed number of pixels, where the inspected image is shifted to obtain a shifted image while subtraction of one image from the other gives the shearing-phase distribution.

Application of thermography to analysis of thermal stress in the ndt for compact tensile specimen

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the thermal stress using infrared (IR) thermography as a nondestructive testing (NDT) method with non-contact and non-penetration way.
Journal Article

Study on the Qualitative Defects Detection in Composites by Optical Infrared Thermography

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the lock-in IR-thermographiy method to increase the defect detection rate in composite materials and found that the result values were not favorable when less than 50 mHz of light source was provided.
Journal Article

Defect Sizing and Location by Lock-in Photo-Infrared Thermography

TL;DR: In this article, a lock-in thermography was used to estimate the location and size of the subsurface defect and the phase difference between the defect area and the healthy area.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inspection of Impact Damage in Honeycomb Composite by Espi, Thermography and Ultrasonic Testing

TL;DR: In this paper, the detection technique of impact damage defect using thermography and ESPI was described, and the results obtained with the two techniques are compared with ultrasonic C-scan testing.
