Deformation, energy absorption and crushing behavior of single-, double- and multi-wall foam filled square and circular tubes

TL;DR: In this paper, a model of aluminum foam filled square tubes under axial impact loading is presented, where the foam-filled thin-walled square tubes are modeled as shell wherein, foam core is modeled by incorporating visco-elastic plastic foam model in Altair® RADIOSSTM.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Abridged Review of Blast Wave Parameters

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the first part is presented which includes various empirical relations available for computation of blast load in the form of pressure-time function resulting from the explosion in the air.
Journal ArticleDOI

Compressive deformation and energy absorption characteristics of closed cell aluminum-fly ash particle composite foam

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of strain rate on the deformation responses is found to be very marginal; within the domain considered in the present study, and the strain rate sensitivity was measured to be low and varying in the range of 0.02-0.04 when the foam relative density is greater than 0.1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Finite Element Analysis of sheet metal bending process to predict the springback

TL;DR: In this article, a total-elastic-incremental-plastic (TEIP) algorithm was incorporated in the indigenous Finite Element software to predict the springback in a typical sheet metal bending process and investigate the influence of these parameters on springback.
Journal ArticleDOI

Blast-Resistant Design of Structures

TL;DR: In this article, various strategies for blast mitigation are reviewed and discussed with an emphasis on presenting a comprehensive assessment of blast response mitigation technologies beginning from the necessary discussion on fundamental asp...
