In recent decades quantitative studies have documented an increase in paternal involvement. These changes have led to hypotheses of a new model of fatherhood. The aim of this paper is to explore the discourses of Spanish fathers regarding paternal involvement, identifying its structure and changing tendencies. The analysis is based on eight focus groups conducted in Madrid and Barcelona. Among the main findings we emphasize that the transition of fatherhood, not without contradictions, is causing the traditional homogeneous fatherhood to evolve toward a more complex and multidimensional conceptualization.

The purpose of this article is to analyse underlying factors of father involvement in the care of children. The importance of analysing childcare lies both in its high time requirement and in its relevance for the distribution of gender roles within couples. Physical care is where more intensely gender differences appear. The two waves of the Spanish Time Use Survey (2002-03 and 2009-10) serve to analyse the relationship between an increased time spent by fathers doing physical care and the growth of male unemployment during the economic crisis. The results show the relevance of unemployment in greater father involvement in physical childcare. Nevertheless, we should be wary of the sustainability through time of this greater commitment to physical childcare when male occupation starts to recover

espanolEn las ultimas decadas los estudios cuantitativos han demostrado un aumento en la implicacion paterna. Estos cambios han supuesto la emergencia de la hipotesis de un nuevo modelo de padre. El objetivo de este trabajo es el de explorar los discursos de los padres espanoles en torno a la implicacion paterna con miras a identificar su estructura y tendencias al cambio. Para ello se analizan ocho grupos de discusion de padres realizados en Madrid y Barcelona. Entre los principales resultados destacamos el proceso de transicion de la paternidadque, no sin contradicciones, hace evolucionar la paternidad tradicional homogenea hacia una concepcion compleja y multidimensional de la misma. ¿Hacia un nuevo modelo de paternidad? Discursos sobre el proceso de implicación paterna en la España urbana

La mejora del bienestar de los hijos ha sido uno de los objetivos que ha justificado y estimulado la investigacion en paternidad. El impacto que esta tiene sobre la vida de los hijos, en especial desde la vision subjetiva de estos ultimos, deviene uno de los aspectos mas relevantes a estudiar. En el presente trabajo se exploran desde una perspectiva sociologica los procesos de implicacion paterna atendiendo a la perspectiva de los hijos jovenes y contrastandola con la de los padres. El analisis es de caracter cualitativo, realizado a partir de dos grupos de discusion con jovenes, por una parte y ocho con padres por otra, en Barcelona y Madrid. Los resultados muestran la diversidad de perspectivas intersubjetivas con las que padres e hijos respectivamente viven la paternidad. Ademas, los hijos ponen en cuestion ciertos aspectos planteados por las tesis de los “nuevos padres”.

¿Una paternidad no tan nueva? Los discursos de jóvenes y padres sobre la implicación paterna: una comparación

This paper proposes a psycho-sociological approach to the configuration of human bonds. Bonds are discussed in its most latent, less obvious and explicit, in order to reveal those emotional and representational elements that tend to be expressed in a rather obvious. The empirical material of the research has been the set of jokes told in different “focus groups”, formed from social homogeneity criteria. We analyzed the associative chains developed in group dynamics. We find that the jokes being universal social phenomenon, the "dormant accounts" arising from the analysis of each discus-sion group, have shown significant differences between them, being expressive loop model of each social context. It also confirms the phenomenon of the joke as a valuable tool for social research.

La transcendencia de lo cotidiano: vínculos, chistes y subjetividad

En este trabajo se propone una aproximacion a la nocion freudiana de preconsciente, con el objetivo de fundamentar teorico-metodologicamente el nivel latente del analisis sociologico del discurso. Recuperando algunas de las aportaciones realizadas por los sociologos Angel de Lucas y Alfonso Orti, se desarrolla la hipotesis de la genesis social y colectiva del preconsciente, y su constitucion por medio del lenguaje y de sus usos sociales. Se defiende que esta concepcion del preconsciente plantea un nivel de analisis pertinente y relevante para la sociologia, y mas especificamente para el analisis sociologico de las ideologias, estableciendo una estrategia de analisis sobre los contenidos preconscientes de los discursos ideologicos. En linea con algunas escuelas de analisis del discurso, se presentan algunas claves metodologicas orientadas a la practica del analisis del nivel latente de los discursos sociales.This paper is proposed an approach to the freudian notion of preconscious, in order to substantiate theoretical and methodologically the latent level of sociological discourse analysis. Recovering some of the contributions made by sociologists Angel de Lucas and Alfonso Orti, the hypothesis of the genesis of collective preconscious and its constitution through language and its social uses is developed. We argue that this social conception of preconscious poses a pertinent and relevant level analysis to sociology, and more specifically for the sociological analysis of ideologies, establishing a strategy analysis of preconscious contents of ideological discourses. Some key methodological practice-oriented analysis of the latent level of social discourse is presented, online with some schools of discourse analysis.

Sociología y preconsciente freudiano: el nivel latente en el análisis del discurso ideológico

RESUMEN A partir de una revision critica de las principales perspectivas del simbolismo desa-rrolladas en ciencias sociales, se propone una teoria psicosociologica de los fenome -nos simbolicos. La perspectiva propuesta enfoca el simbolismo como espacio de sintesis de diferentes planos y niveles de las realidades social y personal, y explica la genesis del proceso de simbolizacion, muchas veces omitida desde las corrientes principales. Ademas, contribuye a la fundamentacion teorica de una forma de plan-tear el analisis sociologico del discurso, teniendo como horizonte el interes por el sentido de los fenomenos sociales. PALABRAS CLAVE: simbolo, afecto, cognicion, lenguaje, discurso, universo simbo-lico, hermeneutica. ABSTRACT Based on a critical review of the main perspectives on symbolism developed in the social sciences, this article proposes a psycho-sociological theory of symbolic phe-nomena. This approach focuses on symbolism as a space of synthesis of different planes and levels of social and personal reality and provides an explanation of the origin of the symbolization process, often omitted by the main currents. In addition, it contributes a theoretical foundation for a way of putting forward sociological discour-se analysis, with interest in the meaning of social phenomena as the horizon.KEY WORDS: symbol, affects, cognition, language, discourse, symbolic universe, hermeneutics.
