The invention relates to a diffuser (3) for a fan (2) of axial, radial, or diagonal construction, having an inlet opening (10) and an outlet opening (20) for a gaseous medium flowing through a diffuser interior (I) enclosed by an outer housing (30) in an axially directed main flow direction (S) from the inlet opening (10) to the outlet opening (20), wherein the cross section (21) of the outlet opening (20) is greater than the cross section (11) of the inlet opening (10) and the cross section of the diffuser interior (I) increases from the cross section (11) of the inlet opening to the cross section (21) of the outlet opening (20), wherein the outer housing (30) forms an outer diffuser part (AD) bounding the diffuser interior (I) on the outside. In order to achieve improvement of the operating behavior with respect to efficiency and noise, according to the invention the cross section of the outer diffuser part (AD) transitions along the main flow direction (S) from a circular cross section (31) at the inlet opening (10) to a non-circular cross section (32) at the outlet opening (20).

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Ventilatorrad (1) in einer Ausfuhrung als Radial- oder Diagonalventilator, bestehend aus einer Deckscheibe (2) mit einer Einlassoffnung (4), einer Bodenscheibe (6) und mehreren uber den Umfang der Einlassoffnung (4) und um eine Rotationsachse (Z) herum verteilt angeordneten Ventilatorschaufeln (8) sowie mit in Umfangsrichtung jeweils zwischen den benachbarten Ventilatorschaufeln (8) gebildeten Schaufelkanalen (10). Die Schaufelkanale (10) fuhren vom Bereich der Einlassoffnung (4) aus radial oder diagonal nach ausen und bilden am Ausenbereich Ausblasoffnungen (11). Bezuglich ihres effektiven Stromungsquerschnitts sind die Schaufelkanale (10) derart ausgelegt, dass im Betrieb eine turbulente Stromung mit einer Reynolds-Zahl (Re) deutlich groser 2300 bei hohem Wirkungsgrad erreicht wird. Die Deckscheibe (2) und/oder die Bodenscheibe (6) weisen/weist eine nicht-rotationssymmetrische Geometrie auf, die in axialer bzw. achsparalleler Richtung (Z) gesehen einen kontinuierlichen, punktstetigen Verlauf aufweist.
