Journal Article
Aliskiren improves blood pressure control and prevents cardiac damage in high-risk hypertensive subjects
Alberto Mazza,D Montemurro,Marco Zuin,Laura Schiavon,S. Zorzan,S Chondrogiannis,Alice Ferretti,Emilio Ramazzina,D. Rubello +8 more
TL;DR: Aliskiren was effective in decreasing both clinical and ABPM values and in reducing LVMI in both genders without any influence on eGFR, even in combination with ACE-inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor blockers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of potential substrates for restenosis and thrombosis in overlapped versus edge-to-edge juxtaposed bioabsorbable scaffolds: Insights from a computed fluid dynamic study.
Gianluca Rigatelli,Marco Zuin,Fabio Dell'Avvocata,Paolo Cardaioli,Dobrin Vassiliev,Miroslaw Ferenc,Nguyen Tuan Nghia,Thach Nguyen,Nicholas Foin +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that at both vessel wall and scaffold struts levels, there was lowering WSS when multiple BVS were implanted with the standard overlapping technique compared to the "edge-to-edge" technique, potentially explaining at least in part the recent evidences of devices poor performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
The secret of the questions: medical interview in 21st century
TL;DR: A proper anamnesis is both a comprehensive and time-consuming exercise and the physician must be able to listen and at the same time to record the data, interrupting the patients and asking for details or explanations, if necessary.
Journal ArticleDOI
[Incidence of acute pulmonary embolism in hospitalized COVID-19 Italian patients. A pooled meta-analysis].
Marco Zuin,Claudio Bilato,Laura Quadretti,Marco Vatrano,Monica Navaro,Gianluca Rigatelli,Giovanni Zuliani,Loris Roncon +7 more
TL;DR: One in five COVID-19 patients experienced acute PE as complication of the infection during hospitalization, and early prophylactic anticoagulation was associated with a lower incidence of acute PE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Severe Heart Dysfunction Caused by Leptospiral Myocarditis.
TL;DR: A 32-year-old man with no previous history of cardiovascular disease spent 12 days in the Kerala region of India as a tourist and had two hand and face contacts with stagnant water while kayaking in the backwaters near Alleppey city, developing fever, dyspnea, weakness, nausea, and chest pain.
